On a lot of DarkRP servers, there is a nifty addon that allows prop to be translucent, and go through people. This allow people not to get prop pushed. How this work, whenever you pick up a prop, it becomes translucent, and can go through people. This will break people trying to prop push you, but they can still prop push other people props. Maybe you guys can find a way to make this go through other people props, but if there on your team it won't go through it.

There might be a few but I think "falco's prop protection" is the most popular one.

To be quite honest, I'm not sure why we don't have a mechanic in game that prohibits prop pushing? Though I'm not sure that would fix the issue alone. Im inclined to believe people would just resort to sabotaging peoples boats by placing/freezing props on top of another persons boat. Such is the way of minges.

If they do this, that is an easy ban request. Just take a screen shot of the prop, then of your boat. A lot easier then taking screenshot of a guy trying to prop push.

Im no expert, but I player DarkRP for a long while, im quite sure that people will abuse that in any way, trying to glitch props together, also this would make boats a lot harder to make as you would be the only one who would be able to see the translucent prop, this might be a problem in teams, also I remember that in the dark rp that was easily glitched aganst walls crashing the server several times, also taking in acount the already mentioned minging as we talked before with Floppy and others a ban request take a lot to make and to process for moderators and admins, im sorry Floppy but I think this would be a bad idea, although its not up to me but to Staff members..... Maybe a different solution, like in DarkRP server they made that props when it touched a player it became like "no-colided" and went through it, still that would be abused I think....

Not necessarily a screenshot, thats why they added the "record a demo" to report more easily this kind of stuff....

Not everyone know how to use the "record a demo", and plus the developers can fix props being no collided. You will not be the only one to see the translucent prop. Everyone can still see it, its just that it looks a little faded, so people will know that you cant hit people, boat. If people try to put the prop into someone's boat. The prop will delete, and boom, no more prop pushing.

There would have to be several checks in place so that your own props dont get deleted. I'm not sure how many checks could be called before it would start to use more server resources than its worth.

I really like the idea though. Perhaps some clarification from @Donkie or @Bayrock would help to figure out if this is something they can do and if its really worth it.

I have witnessed this addon, and I also contemplated adding the feature to the Flood. Opinions?

I say go for it. If it works as intended then it can't negatively impact flood.

    Pros:
    1. Would prevent inexperienced minges to prop push
    2. Would mean less reports about prop pushing

    Cons:
    1. I don't know much about the physics calculation made, but Imo this would add more processing to the server.
    2. A really easy way to bypass that is to *only @Donkie & @Bayrock will know*, which once found by minges, will turn the addon into only another source of processing for the server and no more.
    3. Still wouldn't prevent sabotage of others' peoples' boats.

It would not prevent all of the sabotaging, but it will reduce it. This will make props go through each other, and in boats. If a guy does try to put a prop into another guys prop, then that prop will be refunded.

If that made props go through each other, then people would have a by default enabled no-collide, thus allowing them to use the exploit again & also making harder to build boats that require props to be stacked ontop of each other.

No that is only for others. If other people try to put props in your boat then there props will get refunded. You will still build normally.

Not trying to be rude, but do you have an idea of the amount of physics calculations that feature would add?
The physics' already heavy af with all water and etc., and with this it would put too much load on the server.

That is why this is a suggestion. I am not forcing Donkie/Bayrock to add it in here.

I know, I'm just pointing out the possible cons of the suggestion. I'd love if this was implemented, but from my point of view, its simply nonviable.

Let's just disable building, give everybody a premade boat and call it the day.

Anti-proppushing is difficult, you want to hinder people from fucking around but the more you hinder them the more you also hinder the legit players. FPtje (Who develops Falcos Prop Protection), is talking a lot about this over on Facepunch and I believe FPP is basically the only prop protection mod which has a proper anti-proppushing feature.

The best way to combat this is probably just look up how FPP does it and try to mimic it. I wasn't aware this was such a big issue.
