This is to recap what @Decap said on this post, It should notify all players if a player is connecting/disconnecting to the server. Very useful for minges and etc. It should state in my opinion: Player <USERNAME> has joined the server. <STEAMID> Player <USERNAME> has left the server. <STEAMID> Also it would be nice if it states to welcome a player if new to server. Welcome <FIRST TIME PLAYED USER> to the server as he/she joined for the first time! Its just my own opinion and there should be a timestamper in 24hour clock or 12 hour clock depending on which timezone you live in.
Would be nice if it global. I mean how could it be spammed? (It can with repeatedly joining and disconnecting) It could have cooldown when connecting/disconnecting.
Console would be fine. I rather not have chat constantly say "Person" Has Connected! This isn't darkrp where people stay for hours.
I was thinking the same thing as Firedraft when I read this post. I absolutely do not want my chatbox spammed with join/leave notifications. Its a cool idea but we should at the very least have the option to disable it, the same as we do with the music. Even if it was global and limited to VIP, I'd still rather not be forced to see **** has joined the game/ **** has left the game.
It wouldn't really spam you that much, people don't join and leave the server that often. But this idea is still good just making a quick option to turn it on and off.
I think it should be a preference option for the player to enable/disable connect/disconnect notification as well as timestamps.
Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of letting you know when someone left/joined if it only happens once?
I mean it would be informative to players whoever is leaving because I don't regularly check the scoreboard often when a person leaves the server.
Seems like an interesting idea, and if it does get spammed somehow, just add a toggle button for seeing the message,
Well maybe not one day, but there should be some sort of delay if they leave and come back. Maybe 5 or 10 minutes.
