Right, so, the forums yeah. They're pretty good but we could probably change them to encourage people to post a bit more. (We were discussing this in the shoutbox the other day). I say we keep most of the stuff the way it is, but split the off-topic section into some more interesting stuff ye and do some rearranging of the pre-existing subforums. Main Announcements - Keep up to date with our news and updates Payments Issues Conferences - (Conference notes etc aren't really announcements) Devinity Garry's mod: Flood - Discuss anything flood related Garry's mod: Jailbreak - Discuss anything Jailbreak related General Discussion - Discuss anything else (Put the Teamspeak thread in here, we don't need a section for it now that we have the sidebar) Bug reports Community Gaming - Discuss gaming outside of the servers Creative - Put stuff you made in here yo, drawing, programming, the like. Interests - Maths, science, anime, substance abuse, anything you're into and want to discuss World news - Come out of the basement Off-Topic - Anything that doesn't fit into the other sections Introductions Administration Bans Staff apps (Super secret mod forum) This is obviously just a suggestion and it can be entirely thrown out of the window or you guys could (and probably should) adapt on it. The idea is that this encourages more discussion on our forums and thusly more activity, so it should be whatever you guys want. As to moving the threads that already exist from the off topic forum to all of the individual forums, I'm more than happy to dredge through them all.
I think it should align to: Community Announcements Main Announcements Conferences Payment Issues Discussions Introductions General Discussions Childboard to General Discussions: Off-Topic Gaming Entertainment & Media Center Computers & Hardware Artistic & Creative Corner General Debates Help & Support EDIT: Contributor's Board Threads like giveaways or beta testing can be amazing as well as a Teamspeak Channel for donators as well. There should be a [cspacer_]Donated Channels at the bottom of Staff Channels. @Decap Flood General Discussions Suggestions & Bug Reports Guides Jailbreak General Discussions Suggestions & Bug Reports Guides Courthouse Ban Requests Ban Appeals Staff Abuse Reports Just my own opinion, will make forums look busy and neat possibly
Maybe introduce buttons on the front page to quickly post a thread somewhere? Totally not needed but could make new/lazy people post quicker. However, it could lead to more "crap" posts.
Implying Decap does teamspeak stuff. Do you want to expand on that? What do you mean by "Donated channels"?
I think teamspeak channels should be a perk for one of the VIP Benefits (Gold maybe Plat). Only the ones who have granted powers can create 1 channel and its theirs but it would have to go under the [cspacer] Would encourage activity?
Anybody can already create their own channel temporarily, but I suppose that I could make it so that people that have donated can create a permanent one?
We should still add a forum for VIP+, we talked about it in the meeting and I'm pretty sure it was OK'd but I don't see it anywhere. Also VIP's shouldn't be able to make perm channels when even I can't do that. Semi-perm is ok as long as it's limited to one channel. We should also have a max# of semi-perm channels that we can have at one time @Rick. Is that possible? Or should we just say once we get x amount of channels that we clean them up?
So we can't just say one day "hey, there are like 20+ semi perm channels and TS is really clogged, time to clean up"?
I meant I can't limit the amount of channels that a person can have and I can't limit the total number of semi-perm channels. I don't actually have an issue with having a lot of semi-perm channels, it's more of a hassle to make a bunch of channels semi-perm again than it is to just put up with a bunch of random channels at the bottom of the teamspeak
I just know that every few weeks we have to purge the channels because there are so many. so we wouldn't really be changing anything. However maybe we can make a section where all of the VIP channels would go. Similar to how we have a section for the conference channels, game specific channels and the rest of our perm channels.
Yes. I was saying that. Under the Staff Channels, make a [cspacer_] Donator's Lounge and people can create channels from there once inherited from donator. Just revoke the powers from the people who abuse it.
