I'm a big foodie, a person that loves food. I've always liked to cook as well which is something to many people I know do not know how to do. I took 4 years of Culinary classes while in high school and it all paid off. I can eat much healthier food at a cheaper price than you would think. I tend to stay away from frozen and fast food unless I really need to. I've recently been showing my room mate how to cook so that he can swoon his new gf (that shit works). So here is a thread to talk about what you ate, what you've cooked, or what you would like to know about cooking. I'll help you guys out if you need some tips. FYI, I'm not to good on baking things however I'm not "bad" at it either. Just not my highlight. Last night I made a pretty cheap dinner. I took some cocktail smokies sausages, a red, yellow, and green pepper, onion, and yellow rice to make this kick ass meal. I've got enough left overs for 2 days at least. Very easy to make and only took about 30 minutes total.
I like a lot of Italian foods, more specific foods like ravioli and ratatouille. Oh and Subway is life.
Good cheap meal is pasta of any sort, some type of protein (usually chicken), any amount of vegetables, and any type of sauce. Usual Cost: Pasta $2.00 Chicken $1.97/lbs Broccoli $1.00/head Alfredo Sauce $3.00/jar ---------------------------------- Full Meal $7.97 + Tax Usually stays in tact for about 3 days too, I make it pretty often lol
Since I am Asian, I eat a lot of food you guys probably think are weird. Ma-po Doufo (AKA Tofu) Bun bo Hue with blocks of pig blood Pho with plain beef flanks Banh mi (I like the Korean BBQ Banh mi the best) Snake soup (There is a name for this, but I don't really know it.) Thai curry Steamed clams with some Asian sauce Rice and eggs (With soy sauce added, and chili oil) I hope you guys try some ACTUAL Asian cuisines, and not no Orange chicken, or chow mein, and trash like that.
I hate curry fight me Since I became a student I've basically lived on pasta and chicken. I also make the best pork tenderloin in the world.
Alright I'm going to tell you how to make an Egg Roll. First you get an egg. Then you set it down. Give it a little push and you have an Egg Roll. HAha ha me funny.
