    - Get a bsod (bluescreen of Death) just about every time I boot up my computer.
    -I cant boot safe mode
-- The only way I can acess my computer is if I boot to last known good config.
    - There is no dump files for the bsod, I tried to find the error in the dump location and its just not there.

Should I buy a new hard drive and should I get an external one as a backup?

    Have you...
    • Ran a disk error check on your drives/partitions?
    • Scanned your system with your antivirus?
    • Googled the file on the bsod screen for solutions?
    Also what's your OS?

Can you post a screenshot of what the bsod says? With your phone or something?

The answer is probably a new HDD. Preferably an SSD for your OS and a reliable HDD for storage. I recommend Western Digital.

I have an external desk drive that I use for backups. Works as intended so go ahead and grab one if you want.
