I hear a lot of complaints about this and it happens with me too sometimes, when your boat is floating up, you sometimes fall through the boat.

From what I know this is an issue with Gmod and not Flood, but I could be wrong. However when it starts to happen and you notice yourself falling through the boat, hold down your crouch button and it should keep your from falling through if you do it fast enough.

Also, stand directly on a single prop if possible. It tends to happen more when you are on a crack between two props from my experience and what I've heard.

Yes standing on the cracks give you a more likely chance of filling through from my expirance.

This is why it tends to happen more with log boats. ;)

@Donkie can explain it better than I can but I'll explain it how I understand it.

Notice that this issue "only" happens during the time the water rises. There is a reason for this and I'll explain below.

Basically the gamemode checks to see where your player is standing every so often. In example, if you're standing on something or nothing. When a check is performed when the water rises, it can sometimes fail to verify your position and you will essentially noclip through the prop for a second Causing you to get stuck but the water will continue to push the props up. We can perform this check faster or slower. If we perform this check faster, this issue should happen less often or not at all since the game realizes you're on a prop and not floating in mid air.

These checks come at a cost though since increasing them also increases CPU usage. When the water rises, thats when the CPU is closest to max usage especially when the server is full. Essentially if we increase the checks, we increase the lag. So we want to keep these checks at somewhat of a reasonable rate so it doesn't cause massive lag spikes or more lag overall.
