Do not disrespect Devinity administration or your fellow players. (This includes harassment of any kind) 11. Do not discriminate against other players. (On the basis of religion, sex, race, orientation, ethnicity, age, etc.) Briefly explain what happened: We were playing a round when Rollie slayed a player named Abra-k-Dabba without warning. The warning was issued in voice chat and Abra's username is clearly marked as [Deaf]. After this occurred, I noticed [Staff] Rollie and his friend Pro Ace #PingPong abusing voice chat by harassing myself and Abra as well... I have uploaded screenshots with the comment of "you can't teach a retard new tricks" which I found highly offensive as Abra has autism as does a lot of your commutiy. I also am a donator gold status. I want the staff to be doing the right thing. I picked this community because I thought it accepted people, not demeaned them. After talking with Rollie the entire server kept questioning why he was even staff... You can look at the logs if you wish as well but I attached the important part. Up top is the comment and I did a status so you can verify the steamids. Anyone in that status will be willing to vouch for this happening. This images show nothing important. -1 It shows I cant teach retards new tricks. For all I know he could be talking to some random on the server or his best friend. Either way I feel as this should be denied.
Thankyou for the report @hey.[J]iM Obviously this kind of behavior is not tolerated on our servers because like you quite rightly pointed out we pride ourselves on being respectful to all users and this includes the restriction of slurs and phrases that may cause offense regarding certain people. Obviously this is increasingly important because it comes from one of our higher up staff, however the use of a single pseudo-offensive word is not enough to constitute a ban or a demotion in this scenario. However if your claims that both of our staff were openly harassing the two of you the Devinity Administration would likely have to have a larger intervention (Additional evidence will be required which you can post below) At this point however I deem the evidence that you have given as only enough to issue a warning to @Rollie reminding him to act maturely and professionally whilst on our public servers.
You forgot the date lmao. Make sure to do a thorough job next time, add the date so I can go through the logs. Make sure you submit more proof though. I can't recall the events, so make sure he has the correct date. I'll have to check the evidence later I'm on my phone rn. I do find it funny that you gave me a warning though lol.
I don't see what you find funny. You outwardly disrespected a user on flood despite (Hopefully) knowing that our policy is generally to be respectful to all users, regardless of context, something that you for some reason don't seem to be able to do. The use of the word "Retard", especially when referring to a person is usually deemed offensive. There is absolutely no need to go through the logs as you are being warned for using a non-pc word and not for disrespecting a user. Providing context in an attempt to justify this is pointless because you shouldn't be retaliating anyway. You need to revise the way you moderate and you need to realize that "An Eye for an Eye" is the worst ideology for moderation possible, you are given permissions so that you can properly deal with a situation rather than stooping to their level and starting a verbal punch-out in the middle of the server. You are free to go thought the logs if you'd like to provide evidence to "justify" your use of the word you can go ahead, but I can't see any way you'd dip up anything other than evidence that you may not have conducted yourself correctly, this evidence clearly shows that you have done what you are being warned for, and I have also spoken to Katelyn, who assures me that you did this.
lol there is no justification I just can't stand disrespectful players, now assuming Katie told you that this was not the player I was talking to correct? Although he is the one who took offense to it. I can't hold a players hand and change their dipers every time they break a rule, if you disrespect someone, it's only natural that I disrespect that said play, now I don't remember this Jim guy doing anything wrong other than Harras me and Kate, so that being said, do whatever you want with me. I still need to look at the proof later though. I was talking to another player, who was rather skyboating or prop farming ( have to check the logs) and I told him he can't break said rule and he replied, "sorry I can't hear you I'm deaf XD". So he gave me a rude remark and I came back with my own and *jim took. Offense. The eye for an eye ideology applies to me In terms of respect, if you don't respect me why should I respect you? , Now I'm not saying we have to start chopping off hands for anyone prop farms or flames, but I can't always stay calm and collected when I deal with players who don't listen, and respect others. As hypocritical as that may be addressed , seeing this as the exact reason someone posts a ban request, that's how the eye for an eye principle applies, now that being said, do whatever you want.
Here's the chatlogs for that occasion: IMO Rollie should get off on this one with a warning, but no other action. The lesson we all learned from this is that voice chat alone shouldn't be used for warning players. Also staff should probably also realise that shooting dead props is a waste of time since you don't get anything by it.
I agree I should have posted more information but I just find this particular moderator / staff's mindset to be very negative. Even when used loosely around friends it's still an offensive term (use it in !pm then?). I have nothing else to say about this as the evidence is all there but thank you for taking the matter seriously
