So recently I've been having some confusion with this rule....
" 03. Do not build 'sky boats.' "

I was told that anything above water is a skyboat, Then I'm told that as long as it has a "Support" to hold it up but I can still weld it up.

Picture this, If I had a boat that had three layers
    -A
    -B
    -C

Then the "B" Prop is shot out and the "A" prop stays in the air, Would that be considered a "Sky Boat"?

Here's a video where I have a boat with a surface and pillars connected to my boat. The pillars were shot out and then I am slayed by "Roflcopter Rogers" when he says "It's a sky boat"

So my issue/question is.. Was it a skyboat?

    Here's the youtube video.
I'd advise skipping to 30 Seconds, The beginning is just some gun fire
-46 Seconds mark is when RoflCopter says it's a skyboat
-49 Seconds is when my teammate and myself are slayed

Here is what the boat looked like.

    EDIT :
I messed up that build, There's also those iron doors facing vertically in the middle to fill that gap.

Theoretically by your A,B,C explanation that would not be a sky boat. Through your actual proof I cannot determine whether you had a skyboat or not, because I'm the video we never saw the boat top to bottom before it was supposedly destroyed.

Isn't that boat with the 'pillars" still a skyboat. If it isn't all staff need to understand this. *cough cough*

You can tell its the same boat.

From what I've been told before, a skyboat is either
    A) props being held up by thrusters or
    B) props that are welded to other props they are not connected to physically, causing the player to float higher in the air than normal.

If this is correct then what you described was not against the rules since your props were connected at one point but once one was destroyed the other remained welded together.

I mean you could weld it a certain way, causing the suspended props fall when the supports are destroyed. I believe I recall this from talking with Dawson about this topic.

I think Bayrock and/or Donkie should just make the judgement since they are the highest ranking afterall and the staff has mixed opinions

For clarification and to resolve any potential conflicts:

Based on evidence provided, and the observation of repeat offense; I believe the player should be warned properly that he is impeding on our skyboat rule via the use of a raised platform. If they don't comply with warnings then they should receive a short ban for their actions.

So... Any suspended prop is breaking rule 3. Correct?

It's subject to discretion of the administrator witnessing the issue, but I'd rather not make it more complicated than it needs.

edit: In layman's terms this means an admin should be able to determine if the player is abusing or not

I believe a lot of us a are delving too deeply into the skyboat concept, because it really shouldn't be difficult to grasp. When making a boat, just don't weld props in place that are hovering a solid distance above the main platform. If I am going to go through the trouble of making a crow's nest, I'd do my best to avoid mass welding; only ligate neighboring props so that if the pole is destroyed, then everything else above (like the nest itself) will not remain in place.

What if staff doesn't agree though. Say Decap slays for props suspended at all. While Rollie slays for props suspended without supports. Wouldn't players get confused?

Unless the answer is just completely flying over my head.

Then just tell the players that it's admin discretion and leave it at that.

So to total it all, I'm just going to say that it is up to the staffs idea in the server. It can be a slay or maybe a even worse punishment. So in total just don't build a boat that is suspended in the air, Support or not.

Yes in order to prevent any more issues, just make a flat boat as much as possible.
