The thought has crossed my mind to wonder what type of story telling mediums or media the community enjoys? For example do you enjoy reading books? Watching movies? Television series? Music? Foreign films? etc. And, if so what titles might you enjoy from those mediums? Personally over the past couple years I've become partial to Japanese material such as anime or manga. I've grown fond to anime ever since I became more open minded about it. This fact combined with my usual compulsions lead me to start tracking the anime I watch on my MAL profile. Enough about me though; what about you?
I was going to say movies but after binge watching breaking bad, that's not the case anymore. Finished the entire 5 seasons in 2 weeks, best show I've ever seen.
I used to enjoy movies when I was a bit younger but for whatever reason I've not been able to sit through many in more recent times. You can imagine this leads to some conflicts with friends who still enjoy movies 'naturally.' They find it hard to believe I 'don't enjoy movies.' It's not that I don't enjoy them but I prefer other media over them currently. Many movies can be mundane to me despite my tastes.
Kid: Movies Young: Anime Teenager (AKA now): TV series. Music for my whole life tho lol. I used to enjoy movies a lot but got bored of them, then found anime which was really new watched anime for a long time, but then got hooked onto TV shows such as Breaking Bad and Sopranos, finished Breaking Bad within 2 weeks. Such a good show.
I enjoy some TV shows but not many lately. If you catch me watching a TV series it will most likely be airing on History like American Pickers, Pawn Stars or some other history/junk related show or National Geographic series, lol. My favorite TV series is Shark Tank though; I watch it and its Canadian counterpart Drangon's Den avidly when they're airing but currently they've finished airing until next seasons rolls around so I've been hobbling between anime and random TV series depending on my mood. I used to be interested in manga but it's hard to find time to read so I stopped collecting it early and eventually I plan to sell off most of my small manga collection and opt for a tablet such as an iPad mini or something to read on comfortably electronically. For now I'd say I won't be reading intentionally for awhile. I listen to music on a varied/sporadic basis. I post songs that catch my interest in different moments in this thread. Generally if I'm listening to music alone it'll be electro/techno or something of that sort. When dubstep first hit the scene I enjoyed it but I find it a bit repetitive nowadays. Some of my friends listen to rap so I've listened to some of it lately, but I never really had an interest in it.
