While I respect your opinion, I can honestly say it's not a good one. Saying it shouldn't be legalized because you don't want people to toke up? Why does it matter what they do? As long as they are responsible with it and of age (which should be 21) there should be no reason to not legalize it. The problem with the "War on Drugs" right now has different sides to it. One side it is the freedom to be able to do what you want with your own body. You can plead that smoking it can be dangerous but so are cheeseburgers if you eat to many. I could jam a fork in my eye, should we outlaw forks? The other side of the coin is the cost. In 2014 the US Government spent over $51 billion dollars in federal drug control. This is for all drugs, however marijuana is considered a schedule 1 drug and is more common than almost every other drug. If Marijuana was legalized, taxed, and regulated it could save the country anywhere from $10-$14 billion dollars per year by cutting drug control and taking in taxes from selling it. There is also the cost of lives. Just recently a 19 year old college student was shot and killed by police during a drug sting. He was shot by a cop who was in detective clothing which looks more like civilian clothing than police, so naturally when a guy ran up to his car with a gun pointed at him, he panicked and tried to drive away. The cop shot him dead because he "feared for his life" even though the car was no where close to hitting him. When they pulled his lifeless body out of the car, he had a whooping 2 grams of marijuana on him. The worst part about marijuana and death is that pot doesn't kill you unless you are caught with it. Then the chances of you dying go up due to the force by police. The plant itself has never killed anyone. Just take a look at annual death in the US, you will notice that marijuana is at 0. So how can a plant that doesn't kill you still be bad? Because it's not the plant that is bad for you, it's everything that happens to you if you are caught. 1.5 million people are in jail over non-violent drug charges with over 600k of those being for simple possession. We also have the highest incarceration rate per ca-pita than any other country in the world. Over 200k potential college students lost the ability for financial aid due to being caught with it. So many lives lost due to the war on drugs, simply because the government sees smoking a plant that makes you happy a crime. I'm not here to change your mind or to try to get you to smoke it. It would be nice if the whole world was ponies and rainbows for everyone. But for me, it makes my life a little better when it's not looking so good. A little bit brighter when it seems so dark. So I'm not just toking up, I'm enjoying myself. So I'm just trying to get you and anyone else who reads this to see that it's not a bad thing. If you don't want it, that's 100% ok with me. But don't force your preference on other people simply because you don't like it. /rant Spoiler Sources: http://www.drugpolicy.org http://www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/Causes_of_Death#sthash.rLelqyN7.dpbs
"Medical Marijuana" There won't be such thing in 10 years it'll just be the extracted active ingredients liberal af
I don't really agree as everyone has a preference. Besides if it is legalized nationally then there will be no reason to have a medical marijuana law as the legality of it all will trump the medicinal purpose. I'm liberal and proud of it.
I'm saying that I think in a fair few years doctors won't be like "Here ingest this marijuana that has like 50 active ingredients but you only need like two of them. They'll be like "Here take this actual drug that we have taken and made it do the job it's supposed to do not just get you high". Medical marijuana will still be prescribed to patients but it won't be medical marijuana it'll be Cannibaniod-1315A or something
Yeah that makes more sense. Drug companies will find a way to sell it by putting it in a capsule or pill form. They can't put a patent on a plant alone.
Keep the thread on topic and do not derail. If you have a problem with what she said, talk to her in steam or PM.
Strongly against it. Unless needed for an actual reason, it's just a waste of money that becomes a larger decrease in your own cash over time.
Yeah but why would you be against something that had nothing to do with you? Ever since all of the facts started coming out about the plant, the only reasons people give for it not being legal end up being something about invading someone elses life. It's not your life, so why should you have any say in what other people do? As long as it doesn't affect your life, which is doesn't, then let other people do what they want.It should be regulated just like alcohol. No driving under the influence, 21 years or older to use it, no use in public, tax it to make a little money.
What family problems exactly? Many of my family members smoke weed and we have a very close bond. I would understand if weed was even half as bad as people make it out to be. But that simply isnt the case here.
What do you waste money on then? If it's a thing that you don't "need" then technically by those standards it is a waste. You don't need video games or a nice computer. You don't need a car since you have feet to travel on. So what is actually a waste? Is it a waste that I have a long stressful day at work and when I come home I can relax by smoking a little? I don't see it as a waste when people waste money on things every day that they don't actually need. Yeah I can go without it too, but I choose not to. Just because you spend a little money on it, doesn't mean you don't have any money at either. It's about responsibility. The people who blow all of their money on it are going to do that anyway.
I think most already can tell what my view is, being that I love Grade A, but I'm gonna give me legitimate opinion. Their have been over 10 recorded deaths by selfies in 2015 and 0 recorded deaths by Kush. Also studies have proved that driving high is better than driving drunk, calling, and texting. On March 20th please make my day by hosting a 4/20 event. Yewwwww. Here are some mods and models I think could make a good edition: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=112986621&searchtext=Drugs+mod http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=128258286
While I would support the notion otherwise, the fact is most of our player base is people under 18. Some may get a kick out of, others probably won't. Maybe we can host a game night on 4/20 instead and play other games? Also I merged your two posts, edit your previous post next time please.
