This generation uses and relies on technology too much

I bet most 5 year olds have a phone, PS4, TV in their room and about 3 iPads nowadays

That is not relying on technology, its spoiling your kid, and that always happened, even without technology, we just didn't had means to know about it.

Why can't you sense sarcasm? I can barely understand what you're even saying because of your excessive use of commas.

Even so, take a college as an example. Teachers have all their presentations stored on a computer. Students take pictures on their phones for notes. Students go home and get their laptops out to do homework, which is more than likely to have been set on the internet anyway.

One time at my old high school there was a power cut and we all got sent home because the teachers needed technology to teach their lessons.

Eventually, books will be online, nobody will go to stores to buy stuff, they'll just order it online and schools will become more reliant on technology than ever, probably teaching lessons virtually. Hell, all this stuff has already started to happen anyway.

Better use more commas than miss them, unlike you I'm not a native english speaker so no need to be such an asshole.
What you said had no hint of sarcasm or whatsoever so either you learn how to be sarcastic or fuck off with your "Why can't you sense sarcasm?".

And in an power outage they'd have to send you home anyways, most people don't have a 20/20 vision and reading in the dark forces your vision too much and they could be held liable for that. Water pumps that bring the water from the streets into your old school's water tanks also work through electricity so you like it or not, we need electricity to live and function properly, and so does your old school.
I could find thousands of other reasons they'd have to send you home apart from the teachers needing their fancy equipment to give classes but I believe you get my point.

And online education is better in my opinion as you don't have to deal with traffic, public transport or anything that a normal student has to deal with, also help to reduce the cost schools have to deal with infrastructure, cleaning and teaching material, as everything you need would be available in an online portal which you'd simply log into it and watch classes, ask questions, do homework (because we all know you can use google to cheat even with paper homework/tests), and assignments (or be an asshole to people like you've been or are still being here).

Online books help reduce costs with manufacturing and also help reduce on the amount of trees cut every year, the amount of gases that stop being released in the atmosphere because of the books, pencils, pens, ink and etc. factories will also help stop global warming.

In any case you're just acting like the generation that came before electricity was in every house saying we depended too much on it.
Yes we invent new technologies and depend upon them because THEY ARE HELPFUL and MAKE OUR LIVES BETTER.
Or would you rather for all of us to go back to the stone age where we painted walls with the blood of animals (and some other liquids) and sewed clothes with their teeth so we don't depend upon technology no more?

I really do hope you get my point, since I explained it in a way even you could understand.

Ok, here we go. I didn't want to get into this thread too much but now that you're being rude I can't help but take the bait.

First off what you said isn't sarcasm in the slightest. You exaggerated/used a hyperbole.

Second off your xd sick comma comment was rlly funny, i laugh ma ass off at post xddd, as if that wasn't completely an attempt to get him salty.

Not all colleges are like that. Even so, using technology for those reasons are fine. It's a lot more efficient than spending and wasting resources on paper/pens/etc.

Uh, ok. If there's a fucking power cut they won't even have lights or basic shit so why the hell wouldn't they send the students home? What's the point your trying to make here?

As someone who loves literature, I don't see anything wrong with this. Reading books on a tablet is damn comfortable, and a lot less annoying than books. It also gets rid of the risk of wrinkles on pages, and also provides light so you can read at night.

Teaching stuff using technology is more efficient and economically friendly to an extent.

A while ago I found a picture shoiwng a person from the ancient era complaining about how people are using paper to teach education when it should be done with words. I also found other photos like that for each era.

Regardless of how helpful the new technology is, people will always be adverse to it and think the old ways are perfect. Since motherfucking humans even started as a species we relied on technology, utilizing tools and inventions like the wheel to make life easier. There is nothing wrong with relying on technology considering we always have been. Without technolgy humans wouldn't live, and that's just fact. Clothing is technology. Tools are technology. A manmade shelter is technology. Building fires is technology. Sure, the newer electronical technology isn't essential, but using shit like a lighter isn't essential either, right? We can just use sticks to create fire. The lighter just makes it 100x easier. Which brings us to now: newer technology makes shit easier for us. No reason to not rely on it.

Claiming that kids rely on technolgy too much is asinine and retarded. We've all relied on technology since we started as a fucking species.

edit: the post above me basically jsut said my points. didn't see his as my post was posted right after his was. woops

Obviously my previous comment was sarcastic (for both of you; sarcasm: the use of irony to mock or convey contempt). If you think I literally meant a majority of 5 year olds have 3 iPads, a PS4, etc. then you're just simply supporting my point.

I agree, I was merely stating the exact reason I got told when I was excused from school.

I believe physically attending school is better, but for some people an online education can be most beneficial.

Why yes but it will also be more expensive to develop online books, not to mention the device people will have to buy to use its features (e.g. Kindle).

Of course technology is helpful and extremely valuable for the human race. We can research and develop skills and acquire information we could have never done 100 years ago. I think you misunderstood my comment which has made you this agitated.

    More or less.

    Let's see what you got.

First off, please refer to my previous mention about the definition of sarcasm (the one in parenthesis Mr. I Love Literature). Exaggeration and hyperbole are the same thing in literature, I'm guessing you wanted me to comment on your incredible intellectual ability. Congratulations. But you are correct, Mr. I Love Literature, it is use of hyperbole. Furthermore, it is also a dashing example of sarcasm.

I do not crave a comical applause for my comment about his lack of commas, rather just saying I couldn't understand confidently what he was saying and therefore could misinterpret what he meant.

I agree. Although I think writing notes down as opposed to taking a picture of a presentation serves more of a purpose when learning new information.

I clearly demonstrated my point in the next fragment of the sentence. Also, refer back to what I said to the guy above for more clarity.

Can't deny it may suit some people more than others.

    Yep.

Congratulations, Mr. I Love Literature, but I see no relevance in this.

I was referring to technology such as mobile phones, tablets and gaming consoles, like I explicitly said.

Hand an eight year old a book, pen and paper and a puzzle and tell them to keep themselves entertained and most of them throw a tantrum wanting to go watch TV or play a game on a tablet. Kids rely on technology for their entertainment, so much so it has actually been proven to interfere with their performance at school.

As a message to both of you, I do not know why you both took it so personally and resort to cursing to illustrate your points. I'm not sure if it's because I mentioned kids relying on technology too much that has made you both feel offended on a personal level. Mr. I Love Literature, your language is very colourful and I do hope you respond with yet another emotional post. The other guy, feel free to respond too but just know if you want to throw even more insults, I may not even both replying.

Adios amigos. Get typing and don't take what I said too insulting, you might find yourselves overcome with fury.

Your comment was clearly made to provoke me and I responded it on an exaggerated level. I did not take the "kids relaying on technology" in a personal level as I do not believe it is an offence rather a sign of evolution and adapting.
The quality of entertainment changed with the introduction of virtual entertainment (such as YouTube, TV, games and etc.) and the popularization of technology hardly a kid or anyone else will find themselves in a situation were they only rely solely in a paper and a pencil/pen to entertain themselves, so of course they'd throw a tantrum, they're dealing with an unknown and unforeseen situation and do not know how to react on it.

We cannot blame the technology for people not knowing how to deal with them, the fault is on the parents and education institutes who do not know how to educate the new generations to deal with the new technologies, but on another point of view we also cannot blame the education institutes and parents because they also do not know how to deal with this new technologies. So in the end all we can do is try to learn how to deal and educate others on how to properly use technology instead of blaming it because of the confusion caused by our ignorance of technology itself.

P.S.: I have calmed myself and apologize for my rude behavior.

    EDIT:
These are also clearly provocations, but I'll just stop responding to it .

    EDIT 2:
Anyways, we're derailing the thread, so let's just stop.

You're just conveniently taking certain parts of my argument and using them to prove your point.
My point is: you can't blame children for not knowing how to deal with situations they weren't taught how to. The one you should be complaining to are the ones who are supposed to be teaching them, not them.

the occasional stuff like this is why i still stay on devinity

plsss tell me your baiting and u dont acutally think u gave a prime example of sarcasm

    like pls

you seem like one of those guys who knows everything about writing from reading shit like infinite jest

i dont know why you tried so hard to get me salty with my "i love literature" comment, i actually do? is it pretentious to like literature? whats wrong with liking literature? i didnt say something like i only like literature or something, i just said at one point i liked literature, learn 2 bait newfeg

    >im not trying to take it to a personal level
    >not trying to get you guys mad
    >mr i love literature
    >i hope you do post again with another emotional post
    >adios amigos
    >fury posts
    >get typing
    >salt
    ok

r u sure ur not the one taking it personally? considering you literally resorted to name caling ayy kek

dont know if you're baiting or not at this point, 50/50 shot

its the same thing even outside of literature, which is why i put a /, why are you trying so hard to get me mad lol?

seriously? i say right after that that people of every era are adverse to new technology. in fact, it seems ridiclous now to us that the people of the past didn't want to use paper considering it's such an upgrade. thats the whole point.. do you really not see the relevance? lolkk

i dont even know why you're making fun of me for being pretentious or something considering you actually used the sentence "I do not crave a comical applause for my comment about his lack of commas, rather just saying I couldn't understand confidently what he was saying and therefore could misinterpret what he meant." lol bro just say "i didn't mean for it to be funny, i just didn't get what he was saying". even if you were baiting it wasn't good, learn2bait, use better synonyms and more ridiculous words. its funny how you think im pretentious for liking literature even though you used something as aids as that

you never explicitely mentioned "video game consoles" outside of the sentence you claimed was "sarcasm" dummy

also this isn't derailing the thread hard enough considering the topic is technology and its an offtopic thread

wowowowowo! i m geting reeeely mad Haha xD xDD i gess u can say im turning into... MRS LITERTURE loOVER!!!1111222 boom! boom boom! boom boom! powe1!!11 shabloom!

    TL;DR lern2bait newfeg

But implying I'm "asinine" and "retarded" is all good. You're the one getting funky.

When I saw this I knew that I didn't have to bother with an actual response. The sheer amount of irony amuses me. However, you don't need to know what I'm on about, you'll probably unfortunately learn later on.

    Adios amigo.

    P.S. Cute fake quotes
