The last film I saw was the 2010 thriller The Town. Great watch, I might add.

Just saw Purge: election Day ironically. I'd say it was better than Anarchy but didn't quite top the original.

Watched the Big Short. Very interesting and unique film I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Wolf of Wall Street. It's labeled as a "dark comedy" but I'm not sure that's entirely accurate because I wouldn't say it's outright funny (maybe I laughed once?). However it has this feel that prevents you from looking away despite it being such a gritty and depressing topic. I know that may describe a lot of dramas but this vibe I got from it was different, could have been the weed tho. Definitely recommend 8.5/10

I watched Straight Outta Compton, which then prompted me to watch Friday. Straight Outta Compton was considerably accurate, probably because F. Gary Gray, the director, has known the former members of NWA for more than 20 years. Great film coming from a long-time, informed gangsta rap fan.

There's a bit of controversy whether or not Straight Outta Compton was accurate or not, personally I believe it is but the creators of NWA & Easy-E: Kings of Compton claim it was Hollywood induced. It's hard to tell because several of the actual NWA members were on board with both films which leaves us wondering.

I like all the tidbits that they included that someone wouldn't believe actually happened, like Ice Cube destroying the Priority Records office and the pitbull scene where Dre stormed off. Even though it is rather accurate, consulting every NWA member and Eazy-E's wife, (who even showed Jason Mitchell (Eazy-E) personal never-before-seen images/videos of Eazy that she had saved), from the box office perspective, it had to be Hollywood-ized in some ways, unfortunately.
