Hello Devinians, (If that's a thing)

I was browsing through the members section of the forums and for some members in particular, it got me wondering what their screen name means. The purpose of this thread is to write what your name means (if it means anything) and how it was made. I'll start.

My name is as simple as they come, and unfortunately only means one thing; my first name in real life. Unfortunately I wasn't creative enough to think of an alias that I actually liked.

    Post away!

Once upon a time I was given my first laptop at the age of 12. Upon that time I downloaded my first instant messaging client known as AIM. Immediately I was prompted to create a username, and this was something I had never done before. I wanted it to be a name that wasn't completely arbitrary or filled with numbers. So I did the next most unoriginal thing I could do and asked my good friend 'Jaylan' what his username on AIM was. He replied that it was 'Jayrock14' and my name is 'Bailey' thus I stole his name and became Bayrock. He was mad at me at first but he stopped using that alias anyway so it has stuck with me from the first moment I was prompted to create a username up 'til now and I have no plans or urges to change it.

I have been known as 'Ubers' in the past when Runescape introduced the feature to change usernames. My original username there was bayrock14 and I didn't like having numbers in it. So, when I got the chance to become 'Ubers' and became very powerful and skilled within the game that name became stuck to me as a meaningful secondary alias. I don't play Runescape anymore but as a trivial fact I will mention that I moved on from it to hosting private servers which eventually lead me to Garry's Mod and the Flood.

Interesting story Bayrock. I actually made an AIM account a while back (5 years ago), only used it for about a year.

Anyways, I got my name by being fed up with having to add things to other usernames I came up with, so I decided to come up with one that nobody would have almost anywhere. Turns out this one (meaning thunder strike auf Deutsch) is nearly never taken when signing up for most services. Luckily I know a little bit of German and have some German heritage so I have an excuse for using a non-English handle.

When I was about eight before I got my own computer I had a cheap iPod type thing and a speaker that went with it. On the back of this speaker that it came with there was a serial code and a letter pin that had gwampr on it and well after using this speaker for over two years I had it on my desk when I had gotten my first computer and after setting it up an realizing that I needed a username for everything I used so thinking of this username and looking at my desk I happened to look at the speaker that was turned around on my desk and I added a E to it and that became my username for everything.

That's quite interesting and whimsical to say the least. It also explains why your avatar is of a speaker.

This topic has been more intriguing and engaging than I imagined.

Depends on which username I'm using; Isaac Phil (about 3 years ago) came from when i was bored of playing GMod, so i made a ragdoll and named him Phil (i wasnt very bright). The Isaac part come from when i played Dead space (i borrowed it so don't have it anymore) and the protagonist was Isaac Clark so i took the Isaac from it and it became Isaac Phil. The Taki'Asha (2 years ago) actually came from when me and a IRL friend was playing terraria and we made a Japanese map, i made up the name Taki'Asha to go along with it and it turns out that really meens water falls (plural for a water fall) in Japanese.
