From humble roots as far back as 2003, Devinity has prospered and tried several times to diversify its assets, to little avail. This post will serve as a review of our past failures and look to how we can provide a bright future for players of our servers, in contains never before seen information and interviews with staff members. Warren Buffet's advisor, Benjamin Graham's wrote what was hailed as one of the greatest books on investing and business "The intelligent investor" he stresses the importance of diversifying your business and assets. Devinity isn't a buisness, but it has a financial future and wishes to do what our players will enjoy most. Many people think that Devinity was founded in 2013, however it was actually founded in it's purest form 10 years earlier. The domain Devinity.org was initially founded by Donkie whilst he was living in germany with his foster family. As a small child he was interested in computers and so he founded Devinity.org, a german computer and lifestyle forum. This however did not last long, and a lack of interest from this niche market and the fall of the ".com bubble" led Donkie's venture into financial ruin. Spoiler: The original Devinity After this terrible venture, Donkie was in a tremendous amount of debt and took the decision to flee this debt to Sweden. For years he worked hard to pay off the debt but as the said himself: "It was a dark hole from which I never seemed able to escape, always working, always hungry" - Donkie 2019 After 10 years Donkie was still not able to escape this looming shadow over him. Enter: Bayrock "When I found Donkie online, he was really looking for work... At this stage I was doing pretty well off from diversifying my assets and had quite a bit of cash to splash. I invited him to come and work on a flood server I had been setting up and he obliged. From there a friendship, and community was born" - Bayrock 2019 And so comes Devinity's first attempt at diversifying. Inspired by the game "Antichamber" Bayrock had ambitions to launch an indie game of his own, and began letting people know of the project he had in the works with his friend and lover - "Zero Given". The game was named "Project Zero", however sadly these plans never came to fruition. However flood was still successful, and went on to be the centerpiece of the community. It was so succesful infact that the community needed to be purged and the community moved to Xenforo in June along with the addition of the token shop. 2014 was undoubtedly a strong year for Devinity spreading its seeds. A Minecraft server was started up in February and headed by Jefferythe00, it provided a new source for players to come into the servers however it provided no income stream for the community and ultimately failed. During this time a Teamspeak was also opened, and provided a clean way for members to communicate, it was later improved drastically in 2015 and used as a weapon for the good of the community. "2015 was undoubtably the glory days of the community, it was a peaceful and prosperous time" - Donkie 2019 2015 saw diversification of two types, community and servers. In the early year the Jailbreak was opened by the community and headed by Rick. It was immensely successful, at its peak rivalling flood itself. However as Rick and Roflcopter failed to find capable staff as the current staff team was unable to successfully moderate due to mental issues. A community box was also founded, which hosted games for the community that were not public, such as terraria. "You're fucking retarded" - Rick 2015 The second form, as mentioned, was "diversifying staff", after bayrock wanted to get his dick wet he allowed his queen, Alex, to raise to the highest ranks where she began to hire and favor weak members who could be bent to her will. She used this power to prolong her reign. Spoiler During this time Rick took control of the teamspeak and improved it greatly. He suspected that the community would enter into a civil war and began to weaponize the server. Alex continued to grow her power, this ultimately ended in a coup of Rick with the support of Dawson in December. Rick was extradited and went underground within the teamspeak to continue with guerrilla warfare against this rein of terror. Under the long tendrils of Alex the community then moved to Slack for staff communications. "Gub gub gub lets use slack gub gub gub" - Everybody 2015 As Devinity's most popular year, 2016 saw a surprisingly low amount of innovation by Donkie and Bayrock, which culminated in a large amount of infighting. This banning of Rick quickly resulted in the sad death of the Jailbreak server. Over the course of the year the community began to drift into more unrest over the lack of change. Roflcopter rogers eventually took this into his own hands and provided the community with his own change, starting up a sandbox server under devinity's branding. This was controversial as he did not seek the permission of the founders, and months later upon Alex finding that Rogers had given Rick the rank of founder on the server despite being banned, the server was forcefully shut down. Donkie finally woke up in 2017 and removed both Dawson and Alex, allowing the return of Rick. From his return change was possible. Counter was allowed to found a TTT server in the early months of the year. However this quickly failed for various reasons. "I don't know what I'm doing please help" - Counter 2017 However, a more successful venture came later in the year, one that is still available today; Battleroyale. 2018 saw little more than expansions to already existing content (with one exception) the community worked primarily on diversifying things like weaponry. This worked to further improve the servers and see the continuation of players being drawn to, and back to, our servers. Lead developer Noriaki Cocaine however, did have one large expansion planned. Through tireless efforts he expanded the player-base so that Russians were more welcomed and accepted... QUADRUPLING the playerbase. Behind the scenes however... Donkie and Rick were producing the next server for the community.... We must always look to the past to predict the future. Players have recently suggested forms of branching out. A new sandbox server? Bring back Jailbreak? Expand to a different game? DarkRP? Looking at the history, clearly only one of these options makes sense This is why we have now created the community initiative role. With this role staff will be given the ability to create and maintain servers on a new windows server box. For over a year, since the last big update of battle royale, we have been working tirelessly to produce a from scratch, cusom, streamlined and exciting new gamemode. Any new additions would require a few things... - Profitability - Longevity - Playerbase - Community Backing We believe we have found the next big game, the game of the future. Please welcome the newest addition to the community.... Spoiler We are ecstatic to announce our newest server, join and learn what Habbo has to offer! Please use Google Chrome. You can also post feedback, suggestions, or apply for staff on the subforum: Found here: https://devinity.org/threads/devinity-habbo-hotel.6762/
When you were the greatest Super Badmin of all time but aren't mentioned in the History of Devinity. It is what it is. Glad you guys have something invested for the future though. I don't have any ill will. I hope Devinity succeeds and lives for a long time. *nice edit Ricky boy*
u were never super admin the only super admins to ever have been in the community were me, gwamper, manjin buu and rogers
I created the "Super Badmin" tag actually and was the first one to be Super Admin. This happened during the time you were banned and I cant remember if it was @Donkie or @Bayrock that put me into the role. But I don't expect you to be civil or respectable about it, that's not how Rick rolls. Literally anyone who was around at that time will back me up, but honestly, it doesnt really matter in the end. I played my roll, mopped up mess after mess, and went onto better things. I still wish the best for you and everyone else still in devinity. I had a lot of good times here and it was a highlight of my life. Edit: I was actually the 2nd to be Super Admin right behind Jeff when he left. But I did make the Super Badmin tag once I came into the postion. In other news, Rick is still very bad at trolling all these years later.
You might want to check when this thread was posted, my response is also clearly a joke. Sorry if I upset you, I'm sure a lot of people do consider you a very good superadmin and you probably made a lot of people think that most of the stuff you did was positive. I've been told to apologize over editing your post, wasn't the best meme. Edit: Managed to troll you pretty good from your reply. Didn't mean to hit a nerve.
Rick apologizing? Woah. But seriously thanks. I knew the thread was an April fools thing, but your comment and edit didn't seem to fall in line with the joke, just more of the same old Rick up to his shenanigans again. I appreciate the apology, no hard feelings.
