In an effort to improve the activity on Flood, I believe daily objectives would be a good idea. Foundation Dailies are: Not too difficult but should take more than 1 round to complete There will be two categories of objectives: Statistical and Special Statistical objectives are more consistent and include goals like destroying a set amount of a certain prop or doing a set amount of damage with a weapon. You can call this the grindy part. Special objectives are unique and require you to do something strange or individual, like building a specific kind of boat or playing in a certain way. You can call this the fun part. Something that punishes you for only trying to go for them Most of the time, if you try to only fulfill your objectives you will end up not doing well. This is so players don't stray away from the core of the gamemode. I feel like this is something that is up for debate, however, as it could discourage players from doing them. Simple so any kind of player can understand them A good majority of the community doesn't speak English, so this is an incredibly important point. Perhaps we can create images for these objectives that can be displayed so there can be at least something indicative of the goal that isn't just text. Reward Initially, the first thing I thought of as a reward would be money that can only be spent on props to discourage farming for tokens using dailies, but maybe that isn't actually a problem. Giving people money for completing them seems good too. Additionally, with the inclusion of the new level system in the next patch, these dailies will also give you xp. There will be achievements as well; Here are some I have already thought of: Every day?: Complete 1 daily objective. Making it in time: Complete 30 daily objectives. More please!: Complete 75 daily objectives. Same old, same old: Complete 20 statistical objectives. Taboo: Complete 20 special objectives. Structure There should be at least 2 dailies available at any given moment to guarantee that you get both types of objectives but I feel like 3 is a nice number. New dailies will be given at 00:00 GMT. A timer will be displayed until the next reset for people to always know how much time they have left regardless of their timezone. If someone doesn't want to do one of their dailies, they are allowed one reroll (per day). We also could allow them to reroll multiple times for a penalty to the reward, possibly? Template Ah yes, the hardest part of this undertaking. Unless there can be some kind of random generator for these objectives, we have to come up with some suggestions for the archetypes ourselves. A couple of rough suggestions: Objective: Do x amount of damage. Objective: Destroy x amount of props. Objective: Damage/destroy x amount of props that are x meters away from you. Objective: Do x amount of damage with Pistols/rifles/snipers/smg. Objective: Build a boat or x amount of boats using only wooden/plastic/Metal/miscellaneous props. Objective: Build a boat using only circle/square/straight props. Objective: Use only pistols/rifles/smg/snipers the whole round, y amount of rounds. Objective: Don't be the first one to die x amount of rounds in a row. Objective: Deal x amount of physical damage to players. Objective: Build your boat one minute before the fight phase starts. Objective: Build a boat that costs x amount of money. Objective: Build a boat with x amount of props. Objective: Survive until there is only one more player/team left.
We would want daily objectives to be something players have to slightly go out of their way to earn. These can work but they are more like things that will happen no matter what without necessarily trying to get them. You'd have to create more conditions or parameters.
