Get rid of the "Discouraged list'

Because two wrongs definitely make a right, right?

Essentially the idea is to force error messages and make pages load super slow on anyone on the list. I guess the idea is to discourage anyone on the list from devinity and make them le ub3R mad instead of maturely discussing with them or giving them a formal punishment, because that's too much effort, and plus doing this would be "for the luls".

Of course Rick was on this list because le XD circlejerk is funy XD bandwagonxdd

For whatever reason I never heard of it and there was no conference for it from what I've seen so it seems like only one or two upper ups agreed to the implementation of it. I mean I figured if something like this exists the upper staff would talk to us and the community first for feedback but I guess not. Again, communication with the community is key people, hot damn.

I don't know who implemented it and I don't care, just have a brain and get rid of it

 

I don't think anyone has had a stupider idea, like can you be serious? Let's implement a system where you're not banned because you broke rules, you're getting slow connecting speed and loading many errors because we hate you. That's literally excluding someone you hate from the community, and you might as well ban them for "I hate you, asshole".

 

You haven't heard of it because only me, Bayrock, and Donkie can access it and the only other person it was used on was Clyde. The implementation? What are you even talking about? This is a basic Xenforo feature, not an addon. This is what happens when you assume you know what's going on, just like when Rick assumed I was the one who did it to him and called me a cunt. How about next time you"demand" something be removed, you look into it privately first to know what you're talking about.

 

By "get rid of" I'd personally like for it not to be used.

Also I assumed it was you because I don't see donkie and bayrock doing anything at all nowadays, don't get why you're so defensive it's basically a given when you're super admin that you get blamed for everything.

Seriously I think it's super dumb, I've sat my punishment and now I'm just being punished further when all I'm trying to do is come back to the community.

 

I don't want to dwell into this because apparently I start arguments on all of your posts (How do you argue a point without arguing). All I want to say is if someone is on the list then it's entirely their fault. It's not discouraging them from Devinity it's discouraging them from the shit they had been doing. Want it gone? Prove you're not here to troll and get off the list.

 

The entire point of the feature is to discourage people from the site.

You've since calmed down slightly, but I'm not sure if that's from being discouraged or if you are legit not being an asshole now.

I never said anything about the site, I meant Devinity as a whole. You can still go on the servers correct? That means we don't want you on the forums, not that we don't want you here<--hypothetically speaking.

The last thread about the shoutbox you were throwing slurs left and right at everyone including me. Again with me being the nice guy I decided not to punish you for it, Was I wrong to give mercy?

To argue your points, how is discourage a wrong or a lazy thing to use? It's an alternative punishment to banning someone and works nearly the same way as banning. Obviously banning Rick for a month didn't do the trick according to Donkie's perspective. So him being the co-owner, he took the matters into his own hands and did something other than a ban. Like Applcore said, it only affects the forums which makes sense as the forums is the place we Rick causes the most chaos. He could still play on the servers and join teamspeak. I don't even know how long he was discouraged but from my perspective, things did calm down while he was on the list. Donkie didn't do it to troll or piss off Rick. He didn't do it because he doesn't like him. He did it because Rick started causing issues again with his behavior. It did the trick that's for sure, so I fail to see what the problem is. Is it that you just didn't know it existed? You know there are tons of features that you don't know about that we can use right?

 

It is a lazy thing to do, just have a mature conversation with them or warn them if a specific post violates the rules, and if someone keeps doing it, formally forum ban them. Instead, you force them to have time warner cable internet to aggravate them for the luls. Seriously, this feature is blatantly used just to aggravate others. Why would his feature be used in place of a ban? There's a way to do things. You don't try to actively get someone mad to leave the community, you show them what they did wrong and see if they comply with you. If they don't, ban them. Making them mad will only make the situation worse and isn't mature. If someone was breaking the law, would you keep pranking them and doing dumb shit to them in attempts to get them to leave the damn country? The hell, just jail them. It's less immature and is a permanent solution to a problem.

Anyway, I don't think I've seen one post by Rick that broke the rules as of yet. Is this feature used for people who haven't broken the rules? What kind of fuckery is that?

 

Seriously, it's dumb feature that just acts to fuck with the person rather than just banning them and giving them a proper punishment, when would you have a need for this that couldn't just as easily be solved (In a much less toxic and aggravating way) by a normal ban.
