You should be able to throw them further, they are hard to hit boats.
Grenades are made to be used at short range for a reason. Its a very strong weapon depending on how you use it. Making the range longer would defeat the purpose of having grenades all together. Think about the RPG and how that works. It can be used at all ranges and requires a good aim to hit the target. If you could throw a grenade further than you can now it would just allow players to stay at long range. I personally love the range of the grenades because it adds a sense of balance to it. Having to get closer with a grenade is something that should be kept the same. Its a strategic weapon that can be used to bounce of walls and hit other players boats. And also may I ask how does increasing the throwing distance actually affect you hitting their boats? Grenades are balanced as they are and I don't think they need changing and a lot of other people would agree. If you can't hit them with a grenade then either get closer or use a weapon that can be used a long range.
RPGS are double as good as grenades and they set boats on fire. Also, it doesn't really require a good aim, it's pretty easy.
Grenades can be just as good as an RPG if used correctly. Just because RPGS can set boats on fire doesn't mean they are immediately better. It might be pretty easy to fire an RPG for someone that has used the RPG for a while but for someone new they don't really know how to use it.
The grenade will be overpowered than. Grenades can fly up to 2 rooms. Lets say if you are in room 1, you can throw it to room 6. (whatever is in the right side corner of the room. Its good as it is.
Nothing wrong with grenades, we aren't going to change our weapons to help you get better at the the game. You should learn to use grenades correctly instead. I've not had any issues with grenades at all, most of mine hit their target just fine. Just remember that your targets for grenades can only be in a certain range from you. Don't waste grenades on a target that is really close or far. I tend to throw my grenades upwards high enough so that they will either land on their boat or blow up before they hit the water to cause massive splash damage. Also it wasn't to long age that we nerfed grenades from doing 50 dmg to 25, so i really doubt we would change them again to make them more powerful.
Like it was said above, grenades are a very strategic weapon, the problem I always am in is, The round is close to ending, my awp shots or SVU won't do the trick, If I get close he can possibly use a shotgun or Para me, and I will lose, so It's really just the strat, do I go up and risk being rekt by a para, but do a good amount of damage with nades, and destroy his props all at once, it's really a balanced weapon. You just have to figure out how to use it.
Thanks for the clarification, this can be locked if you want?
Grenades are very strong still even after their damage was cut in half. They are not too difficult to use once you figure out how to use them. If they were made any easier to use then they would be overpowered. Even now there are people complaining about how overpowered they are.
Grenades are also more of a utility weapon. I would not recommend buying them as a starter weapon. They are end game and by the time you get to the point where you have most weapons, people can usually use the grenades pretty efficiently.
@FreeTehChickens I made a realativly quick MSPaint pic that shows what I mean. Throw it to high or low and you won't hit the boat right, you just have to find the right angle and once you do you can throw the rest of your nades at that angle and hit every time.
