There aren't many special rounds where hazards come into play on the battlefield. Only one I can think of is the Mortar round, which doesn't necessarily qualify as a battlefield hazard. What I have been thinking is to have a special round called the Iceberg round, where semi-large (enough to obstruct view) icebergs show up in random areas (or in specific places, based on balance). If a prop were to come in contact with it, that prop could be unwelded from the boat OR frozen in place. These icebergs can not be destroyed by conventional gunfire. The only thing that can destroy it is something that is capable of lighting it on fire, which currently is only the Bazooka. When a Bazooka shot directly hits the iceberg, it starts to burn and disappears after a few seconds, giving time for it to be extinguished if a player wanted it to be. Making it so the only way to deal with the iceberg is through using the Bazooka would make people think about their usage of the rockets more. Would they want to save one or a few rockets to destroy one or a few? Or just unload like usual and try to wing it? Bazookas would be provided to those who do not have them on this round. Of course, this could potentially just mean that the players who are unsure of the Bazooka would just use all of it and not try to destroy the icebergs, but to each their own. Fire extinguishers would be provided too. (not so sure about this one) This round would let players choose to take a risk and use the iceberg as cover, frequently extinguishing it from attackers' Bazooka rockets while paying attention to their boat to make sure it does not collide OR just try to rid the field of icebergs as soon as possible, based on their intents and tactics. This is a concept I was thinking of because there are pretty much no rounds that act like it (hazards on the battlefield).
Nice idea. I don't think the icebergs should be able to be destroyed. Also I think upon touching the iceberg your boat should freeze . Ex. If your boat is tipping and touches the berg you have to fight on an angle.
Hm, never thought of the freeze idea. How long would it be frozen? Cause if it was frozen, that would mean that props that sink would just stay up. And the indestructible iceberg idea may not be too far-fetched. That could be a good way to make it so you wouldn't get bazookas/extinguishers for free.
Freeze could last 45-60 seconds? Possibly depending on impact or how many props are exposed to the iceberg.
