    THE SETUP

    1. Get VTFEdit

    2. Get Donkie's skin mod for FAS:2. Extract to addons folder. Download.

    3. Download and extract materials.zip to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\materials\devinityskintester

    4. To make sure it works, launch the game, go into singleplayer and type in console "dev_skinwep devinityskins/Sapphire" If you done everything right it should look like this.

NOTE: You HAVE to restart gmod after making new folders! I recommend you do this with your gmod turned off!

    MAKING THE SKINS

    1. Open up VTFEdit

    2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\materials\devinityskins

    3. Make a new file or open Sapphire.vtf
(Mainly you should be focusing on .vtf files as they contain the textures. You should only edit .VMT if you want to add/remove shine, etc.)

    4. Now is the important part, find the texture you want to play around with. Use .png format.

    5. On VMTEdit navigate to File -> Import -> texture.png

Just press the OK button here.

    6. After you imported the texture navigate to File -> Save as
[IMG] Save it the name you want.

    7. Don't forget to edit your skin's .VMT file. If you don't have a file to start with edit the Sapphire.vmt.
    (Just edit the "devinityskins/yourskin" part)

    8. After you've finished with VTFEdit by making your own .VMT and .VTF files you can go back to Garry's Mod and type the following command to console dev_skinwep devinityskins/yourskin

    9. Result!

I would also recommend posting the skins you've done in this thread to keep track of what we've done so far. Maybe Donkie or Bayrock will pick out the ones they like!

For some reason can't upload .vmt and .vtf files together so I threw them into a .rar, I recommend people do this in the future as well.

That black and yellow skin looks cool, why don't we use it.

Can you not fix it? Or is it just unsalvageable and would be like making an entire skin again?

It should only take some messing around with the .vmt file.
