So I decided to make to start getting more active on the forums and why not start my own Political Rant series. Here comes rant #1. Be free to ask questions, make comments, argue that my thinking is flawed, etc.
(Note that since there is a character limit I have replied to my own thread the rest of the article.)
So I need to start getting more active on the forums and talking about politics is the best thing I can do to get active. I have been lazy to read all the other posts but I skimmed through a few and saw they were discussing EU politics. I will be making a rant on politics with America being my goto example. How do people get their information on politics? There are three ways, and these three ways include the media, gossip with others, and going to a convention/debate/political event/etc., and I will talk about how all three of these means of information are flawed. Lets start with the media.
    • As a prospering journalist, I need to study all the media outlets around the world, there are so many to discuss but I will focus on three for now. CNN, Fox, and MSNBC. Let me give you the easy way to distinguish the three outlets I just mentioned. Fox is very conservative, yet many of the people working for Fox are split on Trump because well...he is Donald Trump. Fox has the motto "Anyone but Hillary", leaving a lot of reports and writers for Fox debating on who they should go with, go to the libertarian party (Gary Johnson), Trump, a fourth party candidate (Gary Johnson is the third party candidate), or Clinton. The majority of the reporters and writers went with Trump or Johnson most likely, with a lot of the ones going with Trump still questioning his presidential potential. MSNBC is the polar opposite of Fox, their motto is "Anyone but Trump". The writers and reporters for MSNBC want Clinton and hate Trump, and ignore Johnson because why would they want to give him attention to the uneducated. CNN is the most diverse of the three, having some really good writers and reporters...and some bad ones that are either far to the left or right. (The left is liberal and the right is conservative for you uneducated folks) Yet CNN has a more liberal audience leading them to have a more liberal vibe then Fox yet at the same time not as bad, actually no where close to MSNBC. Now that I have explained the three outlets, time to explain why they all suck. When they report the news, they report it to influence you, not to inform you of the news. Well let me reword that, they do inform you of the news, just what part of the news they want to tell you. If you watch a story about a cop shooting on Fox, CNN, and MSNBC. Different people will be interviewed, different facts will be told, and different reactions will be shown. MSNBC and CNN will show you the pro BLM side of things while Fox will show you the pro Cop side of things. Its crazy how much you learn from two, three, four, etc. amount of news sources then just one. So anyone reading this, be sure to get your information from a well rounded amount of sites, both Liberal and Conservative ones. And do not even get me started on news sites like Buzzfeed and youtube shows like The Young Turks.

    • Gossip, whether it is from your family, friends, or random strangers. There is a very good chance they are politically uninformed on the majority of things. So many people claim there parents bash Trump or Clinton so they can not support them. One thing that made Bernie so popular were the younger voters. While I still believe 90 percent of young voters are idiots and have no idea what they are doing, I still think they should go out and learn on their own. Why you may ask? It teaches them a lesson...now I may sound like a elementary school teacher or a parent making the kid learn their lesson after a mistake but if you want to vote for Clinton or Trump or Bernie (When he was in). Go ahead but in years from now and things do not turn out like how they promised and you say, "Wow, I am a idiot for voting for them, now I have learned more about politics and what to do." You will be happy that you learned a valuable lesson. Now back to the rant on gossip. So many of my friends talk about how they like Trump (I am in a republican town), but they know shit about his policies, shit about his campaign, shit about anything. Yet they like Trump. The same goes for Clinton, just I see this a lot more in my town because as mentioned earlier, republican town. One day during one of my track practices I was talking with two of my friends. One followed politics, one did not. They both supported Hillary Clinton. One of the kids liked Hillary for her policies, yet the other one liked Hillary because of who he is and not what he supports or anything like that. People who dislike Trump for being Trump are idiots, you can not know anything about politics and then talk and support someone like you know. I ended up going off on the Hillary supporter who had no idea what he was talking about and asked him a few basic questions. What is Hillary Clinton's view on net neutrality? No answer, so I decided to change the question. What is net neutrality? No answer, now I understand that was a hard question for someone who has no idea about anything. But it helped me prove a point, but this was the funny part. I asked him what was Hillary Clinton's views on gun control. Hillary of course is very very very liberal with her views on guns and gun control is needed for a better world. But this kid had no idea what her views were, how could anyone not know this you may ask? Ignorance my fellow reader, ignorance at its best. So I asked him what his view on gun control was. He told me gun control was bad. I slapped my hand in my face and ignored this kid for the rest of the day after that. This kid's parents said Hillary was good and Trump was evil so it has to be true. Yet he knew not one thing about anything and supported something Trump supported. Still to this day he is to ignorant to notice his flawed thinking though and still supports Hillary. Funny thing is he can not even vote in the election so what did it matter he tells me. That will be a rant for another day though. Just to make a disclaimer, I understand that he may still have more opinions on subjects similar to Clinton, but furthering the questions would only make my growing brain tumor he was giving me increase. What I love also about the hole gossip subject is when I over head a group of people discussing politics yet nobody knows anything and just makes meme jokes about Trump/Clinton. If you are going to bash a politician, do it with research and finding holes in a speech or policy, not a joke you liked on ifunny or twitter. Now this subject could be another rant for another day but the amount of supporters for Trump and especially Clinton that are just plain out stupid are amazing. The rallies are riots, the protests do more harm than good. People become animals out their, and so many of them are not informed anyway which makes everything even worse. Anyone who plays the a F*** Donald Trump or Clinton for Prison song has a low IQ, just saying that now.

    • Finally the conventions, rallies, and debated. As I already touched up on, majority of the people at these rallies and conventions are idiots that spit out propaganda like Nazi Germany in the 40s. The politicians speaking at these events are just going to say the same old stereotypical "I support (Insert Clinton/Trump/Third Party Nominee) for President and think they will be the best option" We heard the same speeches 100 times tonight alone, lets get onto something actually helpful. The debates have so far been a mess, and in my opinion they should let Gary Johnson, the libertarian, a chance to at least be at one event. Gary Johnson for those of you who have no idea who he is is a libertarian who is running as president and will most likely finish in third. The last election he ran in he finished with only one percent of the vote and if things stay how they are he will only end with around 3-5 percent in my opinion. Gary Johnson would need at least 15 percent of the nation to support him to get to enter the debates. 15 percent does not sound hard right? Wrong, without any media attention, nobody will notice him, and Gary Johnson is the best candidate running if I had to say so myself. But because of his lack of popularity people won't vote for him. Now I may sound like a hypocrite but I am not voting for Johnson because my vote will be worthless. Who I will be voting for will be mentioned towards the end. Back to my rant, if Johnson was let in for at least one debate he would get so much media attention and popularity, but less money for the Republican and Democratic parties means no Gary Johnson. Now that seems mean but when the Democratic and Republican parties rule the country, they can pull strings. That is how the Democratic party got Clinton to be the nominee and not Bernie. They pulled strings to worsen the chances of Bernie and give him a major handicap that he was not able to get out of.

So overall, my point in this rant is to get the information from your own research. It takes time and patience to get everything you want to find out. Do not use ifunny or twitter to help decide who you want as your president, the majority of the country have little knowledge of how to truly know who you want as president, and be your own person. Vote for who you think will help you and more importantly the country out the most, not who your friends/parents/family/peers/co-workers/etc. decide for you. Go watch multiple debates and watch who says what, how they say it, and if they seem to truly mean it, and follow multiple media outlets. And finally, the moment you all have been waiting for, who I will be voting for in the 2016 election. Donald Trump. Why you may ask, because when I vote for someone I say a few things to myself. I ask myself not who is the best politician, but who is the worst. Hillary Clinton is the worst politician in my opinion. I would love to vote Johnson but voting for him would only give Clinton one vote closer to winning. I may have Republican views on many things, but I could not stand Obama, and Clinton will only be worse on Obama. Now the last few sentences are just my view points, please do not let that ruin the rest I have typed. You can still use what I said and discover that you may like Hillary better, or Johnson, or maybe you do discover Trump is the best for you. In the end of they day, don't be embarrassed to like someone, and don't be embarrassed to embrace it. Just make sure you know why you like them.

I'll probably be going with Gary Johnson now. I still respect Sanders for all the he has done, but in the end he bent the knee to Clinton and that rubs me the wrong way. He could have gone Independent and still had a nice run, but instead he didn't. Jill Stein is another good one, but sadly she will not amass enough votes to even be on all of the state's ballots, let alone come close to winning. Johnson has a slim chance, but being realistic it will be Trump or Clinton. Our two party system is very flawed in that you have to always choose between the lesser of two evils. Trump is, well... Trump. Every week there is something new coming from him that proves he should not be the president. Yet idiotic people flow to him like birds to breadcrumbs without realizing the danger we could be in with him having access to our military and weapons. Clinton and the DNC has betrayed a lot of people with them manipulating the primaries for Clinton's favor. While I don't think she will do as much damage as president as Trump will, I feel she is equally undeserving to be president as him. This election has been a unique on to say the least. I just hope that no matter who we vote in that there is still a country left to vote for someone new in 4 years.

While I would never think I would be voting for Trump, I feel as if Clinton would be the worse of two evils. While yes we disagree with that I congratulate you on voting for Gary Johnson and having more balls than me. What a lot of people forget is how much will get passed by Congress. I see Clinton and Trump having a poor time getting things passed through congress, with Clinton having a tougher time than Trump. When it comes to Bernie, I never liked him, I feel like he has a really bad attitude towards others behind the scenes and that reasoning is probably one reason the DNC fought for Hillary to get the nominee. If Bernie was president lets say though, him getting anything passed would be troublesome and trying to set up some of his policies would take future presidents to support the exact ideology as him, which is rare in my opinion to see a socialist in American governments.

Oh no doubt, getting anything passed by congress is always going to be a headache no matter who you put in. The progressives will be blocked by conservatives and vice versa. But at some point it's going to tip the scales. I feel that Bernie would have never won the nomination or the presidency even if the Dems didn't conspire against him. However he did wake up a lot of people and get them involved in the political process. That's why you see so many people protesting the wrong way, because they have never done this before and don't really know how to do it right. However in 4 years when we have to sit through another "lesser of two evils" presidency, I think a lot of people will know what to do and vote right. The people who vote for Clinton will probably see that they vote was wrong and same goes for Trump voters if he wins. Stupidity and corruption are our two greatest enemies. Corrupt people know how to keep the stupid people ill-informed by feeding them lies disguised as truth. It's not until we can wake up the people who have been fed lies will we be able to fight corruption the right way. We just have to tip the majority and once that has happened we will start to see real change.

I always hate to speak about politics and religion sporadically. But to put it bluntly, I'm voting for Trump.

Clinton is dangerous to the country and a pathological liar. At this point, everyone should be focusing less on what party they represent/ what race they are/ what biological gender they are/ what height, skin texture they have and more on who is going to logically prove safest to lead the country and [hopefully] facilitate the start of our economy's recovery.

The idea of Trump tightening up our nation's security by erecting walls around the borders doesn't seem like a bad idea with ISIS increasing their acts of terror. So many ignoramuses perceive it as an act of "racism" when it's intention is for the sake of quarantine and suturing our vulnerability along the Canadian and Mexican borders. Will it prevent future acts of terror from happening in the United States? No, but the walls will help mitigate the possibility.

It's come to a point in time where we can no longer take chances. Playing nice and asking our enemies to get rid of their weapons isn't going to stop them from trying to kill us and anyone they perceive as easy pickings for their jihadist regime. Fucking cowardly swine. And all in the name of Allah: a perverted, sodomized, bastardized, hatefu derivative of the all-loving, mericful, graceful, Christly Jehova/ Elohim/ Yahweh.

Going to agree with Dawson here, the only reason people hate Trump is, that he isn't politically correct, his plans are pretty modest, and he isn't crooked.

I am just praying for Johnson to get a chance to have a run at president. Right now things are not looking great for him, one can only hope a miracle can happen and Johnson gets noticed by the media outlets.

I did, at first, want Cruz but my opinions were later swayed to favor Rubio. Sadly both are no longer running, and I see myself only being left with one option. DT. He might not be perfect but at least we can put some trust in him unlike Hillary. As for Johnson, I just don't see it happening.

Trump wants to somehow deport 11 million illegal immigrants. How exactly? He's going to make Mexico pay for a wall to be built. How exactly? He says Hillary Clinton wants to release violent criminals from jail, Where did that come from exactly? Trump just called for Russia to Hack Clinton and find her "lost emails". That is treasonous and is also a violation of the Logan Act. @Dawson You say Clinton is a pathological liar. While I'm not denying that and I'm not supporting her either, Donald Trump is MORE of a pathological liar than she is. He states erroneous claims almost every day that are being debunked left and right. Look at his page on Politifact (note that it is not Politico), He has more Pants on Fire ratings than any other presidential candidate ever!

I'm not here to make you feel bad for your choice on who to vote. However part of our problem in this country is the two party system. A system that is rigged to make sure you can only really vote for people who are in one party or another. Third party candidates never get enough media coverage and most of the time they aren't even included in the main debate stage. It baffles me why so many people disregard those candidates and say that they will never get enough votes, so therefor they won't "waste their vote on them". Well if everyone chucked that logic aside and actually voted for them, it would be enough for them to win the presidency.

Another thing is that Trump and many other Republicans focus on fear in order to get into a position of power. They strain about how much danger there is in our country, whether it be from illegal immigrants, ISIS, violent criminals, drugs, or anything else they can spin a story on to get people scared about. The media isn't helping either in that regard. I do not deny that ISIS is a threat. However out of all of the mass shootings and other violence crimes that have happened in our country or against our citizens abroad, very few of them had anything to do with terrorism. We have been at war with Terrorism for well over a decade now and what good has come of that? How many terrorists are left? It's war on an idea, vague and unable to find a clear end to it. Very similar to the war on drugs, it's one that causes more harm than good. Terrorism has only increased worldwide since we waged war on it. So how are we supposed to defeat an enemy that has no borders, no capitals to bomb, no real military to speak of, and is all just a bunch of random people who can blend in anywhere?

My point is simple and clear cut. I don't want people to vote thinking that Trump and Clinton are the only options. Doing so is voting for the lesser of two evils and against your own self interests. Trump gets pissed off when someone tweets at him with something he doesn't like, imagine what he would do when finding out about all the stuff the CIA can pull up at any given moment. Clinton and the DNC conspired against Bernie and shut out many delegates, that I cannot forgive. So I'm not telling you who to vote for, However at least look into third party candidates and what their positions are. Don't let fear mongering and false claims make your choice for you. Do your own research and make up your own mind. Vote for someone is close to your ideals, not just because you think you can only choose from A or B.
