Trump has good ideas except for the fact that he's an idiot (will the squirrel living in his hair be present at the inaugrial speech), and I personally am a fan of Carson. www.bencarson.com

I live in the UK and I can see that Trump (Just like all other politicians) was clearly very privileged in his upbringing; lots of you may feel that that is a bad thing because he doesn't seem to connect with the people as much as liberals often do. But this is barely about trump as a person and more about the ideology that you may have as a person. If you have more capitalist ideals you'll probably feel as if Trump is a good candidate (The demographic shows that a large portion of Americans agree with his proposals, even if not openly), whereas the increasingly liberal and PC mainstream media largely goes in favour of Clinton (I don't like her at all but I'm not the one voting).

Overall, from following the coverage, the debates, and people's general opinion through social media etc. I've just managed to reinforce the picture in my head that the presidential political system is awful and the general population is going about it all in completely the wrong manner.(Congressional seems a fair bit better). Most of the time it seems that most Americans are far too focused on what is happening in the run-up to the election and their opinions on the candidates as people, whereas if you actually plan on making sure your vote is in your own interest you should look at the entire party's agenda, and the proposals of the candidate. Look at whether or not you agree with those and look to see if you think they will be able to carry out those promises (Something that they all too often don't).

tl;dr Your two party system and your media fuck you daily.

This guy is an idiot though. He thinks the Great Pyramids were storage for grain and build by someone from the Bible. He's also a habitual liar who changes his stance on things all the time. I simply can't trust a Republican as every time one has been in office, the country went down hill. Democrats aren't much better, especially Hilary, but their track record is better than the GOP.

Looking at it that way our whole system sucks, the votes don't actually matter as the decision goes to the electoral college(more corrupt than Hogwarts in Book 5) and while they say anyone can run, we haven't had a non-democratic/rebublican in 165 yrs.

It's going to take the majority of citizens to rise up and want change. Until then, we will keep putting the same two faced politicians in office.

I think our government did take part in creating it but it's not like our politicians were there training their people. They funded to wrong people for what they thought were the right reasons.

Actually talked about this in Pre-AP World History. There were many causes, basically anything to anger Islams.

Every country has flaws in their political system that are corrupt in one way or another. Idk why the majority of Britisb people I meet are so nationalistic, even more so than Americans. It's annoying af. No country is perfect.

Because too much nationalism leads to ignorance. Although I can't say how nationalistic you are, but if someone is too nationalistic/ patriotic it leads to ignorance about the flaws of our own countries. My point is don't point out th e flaws of a country, when your own country is not perfect either. As if one political procedure or even that is corrupt classifies a country to be retarted, when The UK and every other country has some sort of corrupt govorment or local govorment all prcedures and such. So in actuality all countries are "retarted" in some shape or form. But I agree Americas govorment is corrupt af. But don't act like its the only corrupt country.

Being patriotic or nationalist or liberal or whatever literally means nothing, if that's what the people are then that's what the people want, it's not up to you to start calling people stupid because of their beliefs. I pointed out America in particular because your political SYSTEM (Not your beliefs) are just straight up retarded, jerrymandering, billion dollar advertisements and investments, vested interests, disproportional representation, gerrymandering, FPTP, two party state just to name a few off of the top of my head. Sure the government over here, as with any country, has a few issues you're right: For example we still use FPTP, and sure there may be some low level corruption but not on the scale of the US.

Like a lot of people have said in this thread already, American politics are really fucked up.

I can't put into words how much I hate all of the Republican candidates for the 2016 election, so I'll just say they're total degenerates who (I think) don't know how to run a country.
    Trump is a billionaire that:
    • Thinks anyone who follows Islam is a mujahid out to cut every American's head off
    • Has an unrealistic idea of building the American version of the Great Wall and having Mexico pay for it all
    • Thinks that Obama is "GONNA TAKE ALL OUR GERRNNSSS" and wants to defend the 2nd Amendment by making it easier for criminals and the mentally unstable to get a gun
Carson has the education of a neurosurgeon, but certainly doesn't act that enlightened:
    • Wants to force a woman to have a child, even in the case of rape, incest, or if the mother is at risk due to birthing the child
    • Wants to repeal a healthcare system that prevents companies from denying people coverage due to preexisting "conditions." Great idea! /s
    • Doesn't know the difference between an Islamic terrorist group and a fucking bean dip, come on dude
The others are just as batshit insane but I don't feel like talking about them. I'm a far left Democrat myself so I kind of go off when I hear stuff like what's been coming from a large majority of the Republican party these past few months.

As for the Democrats, O'Malley has absolutely no chance of even coming close the beating Hillary or Bernie for the nomination so I won't talk about him. I agree with Hillary on some of her views but I lost a lot of respect for her when she played her woman card and 9/11 card in the second Democratic debate when Bernie pointed out that she was basically being bought by large Wall Street banks and corporations. I honestly believe that Bernie Sanders is the only good candidate out there for 2016.

Call me a socialist, call me a communist, my opinion is what it is. #SanderForPresident2016

I just need to say this real quick, Sander's is an ideological purist. What are the actual chances he keeps his promises? In fact I'd like anyone on the 'Bernie Bandwagon' to give a reasonable example of when he's actually proven to be a good leader. Also, his closest workers and friends that he's known for years are now endorsing Hillary. Plus, the majority of his voters are very young which will be horrifying to most older democrats. Additionally he actually self-describes as a socialist. Even the independents are seeking refuge with the Conservatives because he's admitted to the fact.
