I’d like to kick off this thread with the statement that I am in no way suggesting those that have received their rank this way be demoted at this time. I don’t think that’s a good way to install a new rule, and those who received their rank by applying for the opposite server would be grandfathered in. That being said, even if it is a sore subject, you could be an expert in flood moderation but that doesn’t necessarily qualify you to be staff on Battle Royale—and vice versa. However, there are qualities in our staff members that give them the right to be staff and I do believe that if you are staff on one server, you’d probably be a good fit for the other game mode; even so, the gamemodes and their rules are very different and perhaps instead of giving universal ranks, roles on other servers should just be heavily considered when the said staff applies for the other server. Originally I was under the impression that this wouldn’t be possible due to the database having to carry over ranks, but then I was informed that this wasn’t the case in the past when Devinity had multiple servers (TTT, Jailbreak, etc.) and members were asked to apply individually for each one. This begs the question, why did we change? I think the old system held more water due to the fact that it actually tested the qualifications of the member through the scenarios. Moving forward I believe the only universal rank should be admin, mainly because that rank comes with an extreme amount of trust but if people feel mod should be universal too, I’d be open to that. Let me know how you feel in the poll above.
