In this event, every player must add the same specific prop that isn't from the wood/plastic category to their boat. Once that prop is destroyed, the rest of the player's boat takes double damage. If the player did not add the prop, they will take double damage from the beginning. This would force the players to get out of their comfort zone and construct a boat that they aren't familiar with just to make sure they don't get wiped out quickly. Conversely, the people that build the same thing they build every round would die fast unless their usual design already includes said prop. The reason why it isn't from those two categories is that it would be too easy to include said prop because it would most likely easily float. I'm talking adding a high health, heavy prop like the lockers or a low health, small prop like the leek. Something that is harder to destroy than usual. One topic that I can't come to a conclusion with is whether the golden gun should or should not be allowed on this round. Of course, it would be rather silly if the prop happened to be a 1ton and most of them immediately get erased as soon as the battle phase starts. Pun aside, this concept is pretty simple as is, so, thoughts? Ideas on balance? Improvements?
Well, the most you can try to do is hide it or conceal it using other props. Obviously, it's a 1hp prop but I suppose that that's part of the fun of the event. I know you can't avoid people hitting it using explosives but the situation presented is quite similar to rounds that can happen on the one weapon event or the hp scramble event where the randomization is at its extreme, such as the one weapon being the rocket launcher or very small props having extremely high health. That's just how it COULD happen.
Sounds good. That also means that people can build big boats without them immediately being shredded.
If the server rolled this event with toilet rolls, i would sink the toilet roll with a heavy prop... bam problem solved Jokes aside I like the idea, explosives should not be disabled however, instead the VI prop should have 100hp or maybe only the VI prop should have explosive and fire resistance, that way it would be fairer and you do not have to go through the hassle of taking down a tank boat without explosives.
So this is the voted event. Just saying localized vip props creates numerous complexities: -Boat detection, this may be laggy as there is a need to ping through the boat constantly -If the boats splits apart, does the split piece get the bonus or not? -Prop limits? If you get a prop with a limit of 1, you will be unable to make two boats. I would prefer global but thats just my opinion...
I'd say that as long as the VIP is not underwater, meaning that it is floating and can be shot easily, all props from all boats are affected. And for the case of prop limit, I believe we can choose to make the limit for every prop 2-3 just so people can make some backups while still applying the gamemode's rules. They don't have to use the entire limit, they can still use 1 if they so please. This also means they can just place all of the VIP's on a single boat if they wanted to.
