The only way the server can be shutdown for good is by not supporting the community/donating. The code stolen contains broken features that were never fixed anyways, so sucks on them. edit: Glad 2.0 wasn't released today because that'll fucking suck.
I'm not sure if your data are protected by law. I do not know if there is such a data protection law in the usa are ^^. But this is also a long-term solution.
Not sure as I've seen Hellzone do DMCA Takedowns on servers that has just the base gamemode (vanilla) that doesn't even include their own code.
It's not 'modfied-ish,' it's entirely custom. Personally I doubt the source would help anyone achieve much. There's too many ins and outs that you'd need to reconnect in order for it to function like ours. Regardless, we're all keeping a close watch on the situation. Anyone who wants to keep an eye out for copycats or leaks will be appreciated.
Not just copycats. We should also keep an eye out to see if any of our content is intergraded with existing servers.
Don't share our own problems to other communities. They don't need to know about this and worry besides sharing will only make things worse on you and devinity. Keep things to yourself please.
