1) The health values of all props spawned by their respective users are randomly swapped with each another prior to the Battle Phase. 2) The way HP is reallocated–whether for better or worse–would solely be up to chance. Each Scramble Event would be theoretically unique in outcome and experience. Each player would receive a different scrambling result. The probability for HP exchanges to occur between certain props might be rarer than others (e.g. HP swapping between a vending machine and a locker). 3) Play your cards (or in this case props) right: High-risk, high-return scenarios would more than likely be possible. Shitty boats could become leviathans while heavily armored vessels could be degraded to mush. Finally, over used concrete barriers will stand no match to my book case boat!... Unless I get a bad scramble and get 1 hp for each bookcase and pole...
This idea is pretty good though, if you ask me. Scrambling the stats of each prop during this round will allow players to think up new and unique designs that are usually considered as unreliable in normal rounds. Hopefully, I will get to see some amazing designs through this. With that said, I don't think my personal designs would work under these circumstances. I use way too many props and variations for my boat.
Hmm, yeah. I agree that it could only amplify the issue if scrambling causes the mostly used props to be even used further. I would suggest a probability to address this though, maybe like 5 - 10% chance of a thick vending machine to have a HP of 679?
I dig this idea, and it shouldn't be complicated to implement. Nice one @Dawson; I'll see if I can do something! edit: Spoiler Got it functioning partially. Should be able to have it pushed with next patch. Just a few things to iron out first.
I implemented this event last month. This thread can be used for any further feedback about the event.
Would it be possible to implement the scrambling as soon as the build phase ends? Or would it be better to have everything scrambled at the beginning (as it is now)?
Nah, I agree with your original plan in that the props health should be randomized once the build phase ends. I mean I thought that was almost entirely the point of the gamemode, where there's a lot of risk involved in making a boat because you dont know if the prop can end up having like 1 hp. Though the gamemode settings atm are still pretty fun to play with, I think it'd be more hilarious to have the prop healths be randomized after build phase
I like the way it is honestly. This gives a way for use to make unconventional boats using props that usually wouldn't be used. The other day, pallets had the HP of a locker and it was fun finding ways to use it. If they are randomized after we build, it's just not going to make it as interesting. Everyone will be like "welp, just build whatever i guess".
