Similar to the What are you listening to thread, post movies that you have watched recently. Generally do not just post the movie title, try to be a little bit more involved. Ideally post a trailer with a short non-spoiler description of what you thought about it. For me, I finally got around to watching Mad Maxx: Fury Road. It was pretty good, not as good as everyone says it is imo. Short and to the point, filled with action but not so much story wise.
Last film I watched was birth of a nation. He achieved what no other known man has achieved. To watch his work is like being witness to the beginning of melody, or the first conscious use of the lever or the wheel; the emergence, coordination and first eloquence of language; the birth of an art: and to realize that this is all the work of one man.
Last movie I watches was ..... Cowboys and aliens really , I dont watch that much tv Nice movie btw I can recomment it Sincerely J.V
I watched Deadpool the other day. Obviously being a big fan of the character already I knew I would love the movie. It was a bit short, but with what they had they did really well with it. Numerous easter eggs and even more funny moments. I'd give it a 9/10
I just watch fast and ferious 6 for the first time That is intense when the girl goes airborn and the other guy I forgot his name just gets out of his car and crashes it to catch her mid air. Too cool
I watched an avant-garde Japanese animated arthouse film from the 70s known as Kanishimi no Belladonna this week. Which translates literally as Belladonna of Sadness or figuratively as The Tragedy of Belladonna. It was inspired by the 1862 book La Sorcière (Satanism and Witchcraft) by French historian Jules Michelet. It's the story of a beautiful peasant woman named Jeanne who was raped by the land baron of her village after failing to meet marriage taxes. Spurned by her husband, she makes a pact with the devil to gain wealth and power. The baron and villagers begin to suspect Jeanne of witchcraft and subsequently banish her from the village. However, with the village succumbing to the cusp of the bubonic plague the baron has a change of heart regarding Jeanne. He offers her the rank of the highest noble in return for the power behind her mysterious belladonna flower. If you watch the film you'll know whether Jeanne accepted that offer or not. Fun fact belladonna is not only a highly toxic flower but also means 'beautiful woman.' This made for an extremely thought provoking succession of metaphorical imagery far ahead of its time. With that explanation I leave on this note: Spoiler: OST
This past week I watched Citizenfour. A documentary covering Edward Snowden and his controversial release of highly classified NSA documents. I really liked this a lot. It confirms what we all know about the government in a shocking way. I also checked out Spotlight. This one won 'Best Motion Picture of the Year' at the Oscars, so needless to say it's critically acclaimed. It's the true story of the Boston Globe uncovering the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church, and the system to its core. This starts slow and ended outstanding. Definitely a groundbreaking film I'd recommend.
I watched the finest hour its about a boat being ripe'd apart and maybe 20+ people trying to buy enough tine to be rescued it has Chris Pine in it (As the rescuer)
I watched Captain America: Civil War not to long ago. Was pretty good, about the same as Winter Soldier but maybe a little better. Also watched X-Men Apocalypse and I was underwhelmed. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.
