Hello there! Just posting a thread about some fresh HL2 mod, I really hope that there are some ol` gamers who love great series of Half-life . Anyways, this mod is unique due to the fact that main character is not Gordon Freeman. You will play as member of an elite Civil Protection team, all happens 11 months before GF arrives in City 17. The best thing is that you won`t have HEV suit, so prepare to save your ammo&hp because it is going to be very hot :heated: if you choose Hard mode. And here is the link to the steam page of the mod. Don`t worry, it is free! http://store.steampowered.com/app/714070/Entropy__Zero/
I'm a fan of source engine games, especially ones like these. Entropy is pretty good, one of the first games I've played as a combine. The level design can be frustrating at times on certain areas like the subway/train station where zombies just keeps on spawning everywhere, including that one area where it has orange test tubes (that's where I stopped, hitting around an hour and a half because it was very confusing). The difficulty isn't very accurate, though it provides good challenge. If you want a normal-like difficulty, I'd recommend easy. If you find yourself getting lost often or cannot solve puzzles as skillfully, that difficulty should be good for you.
I love these source engine puzzle games. I like something with a little difficulty. Is it any more difficult than the Portal games? I'll consider trying it if it's not too hard.
It is rather challenging mode, so if you are in more story and environment thingy, I suggest you to play with easy/normal difficulty.
Entropy 2 is scheduled to release sometime this year probably, wish combine was still here I heavily recommend Transmissions: Element 120 and Half-Life 2: DownFall if anyone hasn't tried it out yet. 2 great, short and (kinda) recent half-life mods
woo we bringing back the thread Transmissions was pretty good. Unique concept and fun gameplay. It's already solid at its length but I would love for it to be longer.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/operation-black-mesa/news/summer-2018-update1 Hypee, can't wait to pick this up on release. I've played the recreational Black Mesa which literally revived the entire franchise, and is super good. I hope there will be more quality derivative titles like this and the upcoming Opposing Force.
This looks promising. Opposing Force is probably my favorite game in the series, so I'm really hype for this even though I'm only seeing it now from your link counter. It doesn't seem as polished as BMS but it is an early version so it'll probably get better over time.
It's really interesting how they're using the source 2 (CSGO) engine to make this game as apposed to the other mods which stayed true to source 1. I'm not really expecting the same quality as Black Mesa but so as long as the derivative stands up to the original. I'm honestly pumped up but yeah I hope the quality of the game gets better. I also hope on release that a developer will port these weapons to Garry's Mod so we can use them on our Flood servers \o/, how cool would that be?! Still waiting for the add-on creators of the BM:S pack to release part 2, which has the G2 contender replacement I definitely want to have
One of the main reasons I loved Opposing Force was because of the pipe wrench. That shit was so fun to use. On the topic of porting them GMod, it would be really sick to see the barnacle replace the harpoon. Or a one weapon round with the displacer.
Whoa, a source game RPG lol https://store.steampowered.com/app/...lteredrecommendations_&curator_clanid=6858478 We should play some Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop with a couple more people Haven't gotten beyond that first final stage Also if you guys haven't already, check this out. Good solid hour or two of gameplay https://store.steampowered.com/app/...lteredrecommendations_&curator_clanid=6858478 There's an act 2 of the game but in completely different engine (UE4) so I wasn't really interested in further progressing
I played Reactive Swarm when it first came out since I loved the original. It's pretty cool and I enjoyed seeing the series get a breath of life. Wouldn't mind playing it after a conference or whenever. Also, if you didn't tell me Divinia Chronicles was in source, I never would have realized that. Awesome.
Yeah, the game looked way too good to even be a source game and was in complete awe when I found out lol Here's a notable person that reviews mods from the depth of the seas, I genuinely love his videos
I prefer mods that are at least somewhat related to the universe, but some original ones are also amazing. How often do you play HL1 mods? Sven Co-op is honestly really fun.
Also, this mod called Research and Development for episode 2 is very satisfying to play. It consists of puzzles that make you think outside the box all the time so the simplest ones seem impossible . Very good though. Would recommend.
@Noriaki Cocaine and I have played Obsidian Conflict which is a more casual-like derivative to Synergy. One of the custom maps, oc_harvest is a really good farming map which I would like most of us to pitch in as well. I think it'll be a great experience to relive old sourcemods
