What is it? As of recently, we have had an increasing amount of players breaking forum rules. We have given out warning levels to many of the perpetrators in an attempt to discourage them from doing so in the future. However most of these warning levels have been ignored and have not resulted in a reduction in the frequency of rules broken. As a result of this we have decided to adopt a more "practical" way of dealing with those of you who break the forum rules. From today we are running a ten-point warning level system (Many of you may have seen this on other forums. This essentially works by having moderators give out warning levels based on the rules that you have broken (This works cumulatively, such that these warning points stack). If you happen to reach a warning level of 10, you will remain banned from the forums until at least one of these points expires, and your warning level drops below 10. The forum rules and the terms of service can be found here. Below are guidelines for giving warning levels. Durations: The default duration for a warning level should be 1 month. Offenses that players repeat after receiving a warning level for that action previously, should have the duration of their warning level increased to one month. If players have recently been banned for exceeding a warning level of 10, the duration of the points can be edited according to the administrator. Points: Repeat offenses after being warned previously should be met with twice the warning points as recommended below. If players have recently been banned for exceeding a warning level of 10, the amount of points can be edited according to the administrator. Deliberately breaking any of these rules should be met with a warning level of 10, with a duration of 1 week (Inclusive of loopholes, trolling ect.) Warning levels should be given according to the guidelines below. Use of language outside of English for general posts: 1 point Overuse of Font Sizes, Colours, ect. for no clear reason: 1 point Posting in the incorrect section: 1 point Consecutive posting: 1 point Necroing: 1 point Backseat Moderation: 1 point Nonconstructive or Irrelevant posting: 2 points Disrespect of users: 2 points Abusing or misusing the Rating Post system: 2 points Spam or Advertising: 3 points Unsuitable content: 5 points
