Not sure if anyone has heard about that explosion in China. This has got to be the most extraordinary video I've ever seen of an explosion. There are numerous more videos out there of the explosion, but this one captures the magnitude of it all. Currently there are nearly 70 people, 700 injured and countless missing.
Well it could be, they still don't know what caused the explosion. The problem is that it was a Chemical Factory, so there could be potentially hazardous chemicals spread all over the city because of this.
Afaik a gas station blew up, which fire fighters had started fighting, and then the fire spread to a big oil tank outside the chemical plant, which caused a chain reaction.
Death toll apparently is at 112 right now. Here are some stabilized gifs of the explosions: http://imgur.com/a/PQGCa?desktop=1
You want it to stop, but it just gets worse every time you think it won't get worse. Also have you seen the pictures of like melting cars and storage containers flung into buildings, I'm surprised the death toll was only in the 100s.
Yes, I've seen the aftermath pictures. Pools of molten metal found all over the place and those storage containers flung around like tin cans. It's not just the death toll that is bad, hundreds are injured, many life threatening and could increase the death toll. Also the thousands of people that had to be evacuated because they still don't know what kind of toxic chemicals that was spread around. Very bad situation.
Yeah, despite the fact that poisonous chemicals were being housed in the plant the Chinese government has just told people to keep on drinking the water, it's ridiculous.
That's the worst idea, but then again we are talking about China here. They don't have the same regulations that we do here in the US and for you in the UK. Their idea of safe isn't close to what we say it is.
