you were thinking I was going to leave them open. and a open window is a door and a... nevermind. ANYWAYS BACK TO WORK
Sensai, great stuff you've got here and as a mapper myself I'm impressed! If possible, I'd like to help with this endeavour. I'm quite good with architecture (if my Hammer client would let displacements work), and art direction (graphic designer and art student) so I'd be happy to offer suggestions on colour balancing and such.
I've been working with Sensai for a bit on the textures for a while and this is what I've come up with: Ignore the shitty pillar texture. I hate it too. I've taken with a stylized approach to the textures for this map. So far it's turning out great. I'm going to wait a while before I compile it, however. Here's an album with the textures I've played around with: http://imgur.com/a/4tiyc#0
Looking quite nice now that you and Sensai have collaborated. I'm interested in seeing a bit more refined product when you guys get the chance.
I wish I could lend a hand with modeling the level out too, but unfortunately I never gave myself enough time to learn hammer (let alone basic programming) without forgetting anything. Different priorities is all I'm going to say.
I was playing around with Finale 2014 and came up with some music. Not my composition, but it's a MIDI from RPG Maker XP that I remastered and changed the time signature. Sounds pretty good. https://soundcloud.com/andy-stewart-21/tower1
***Added several more music selections for the level's playlist. Please refer to the thread's first post.***
It's been a while since I last checked in, but out of curiosity have there been any updates made on Toxic Tower?
@Sensai-Mostache was the user unofficially working on this map concept with texture assistance from @Donnerstreik. I'm not sure if the project has been dropped, set aside, or not but our official map concept thread can be found here.
Ive actually been in the process of moving, I finally got a stable wifi connection, although I may wait till I get my good computer shipped in. But progress will be continued in the next upcoming days...
