Currently, Birthdays are displayed on the left side of the "Members" page. Not many people go there so thus seeing current birthdays doesn't really happen that often. I suggest moving it to the front page and have it added to the sidebar under people who are online. Another suggestion would be to add a Birthdays subforum under Off-Topic for people to make Happy Birthday threads. I'm shamelessly requesting this because my birthday is coming up along with a few others in the community.
There is already little space on the main page. I don't really think people's birthdays are important enough to see on there. Also subforum for birthdays? What will be on there? "ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!" threads where people with nothing better to do feel the need to tell people it's there birthday for attention? Or like say its somebody else's birthday do I make them a birthday thread. IMO if you're egotistic enough to make a self proclaiming birthday thread just put it in the personal announcements section, that's what it is after all.
I never said we would make our own birthday threads. That's if someone else wanted to wish someone a birthday. So technically it's not a personal announcement since someone else would be positing it about that person.
So threads where I do "Happy birthday decap!" And then you say thanks bruh and then a couple of other people of "Yeah happy birthday bro" Yeah that would annoy me
Ehh, I am more fond of an idea of creating a Birthday subforum in the Off Topic discussion. It is quite appropriate if you ask me, since this would allow players to have a designation with regards to birthday events. It also tidys up the forums slightly, if that is what you guys desire. Having a birthday section placed at the front page is also appropriate, if you ask me. I know that it can be space-consuming and that it can be slightly disturbing to have tons of birthday notifications popping up on the forums, but hey, shouldn't we at least commeorate or show appreciation to notable staff members who have spent years working on this project? I think it is important to at least acknowledge and give them our well wishes to the people who worked the most for this community. In overall, the implementation of both suggestions would be great for this community. While there may be some inconvenience caused as a result of this, I feel that it is just simply only one day. This should be a joyful event celebrated by all.
Good thing it's not up to you then. Maybe some people would like to get a happy birthday thread. I'll be sure for when yours rolls around that I make sure no one makes one.
