I came up with this idea randomly. Build Phase: Same as a Regular Round, make something that floats. Prepare Phase: Normal, Get on your boat then the water will rise. Fight Phase: Enemy's (combine, soldiers, etc) will Spawn on the walls and bridge above the canal and start shoot at you. While that's happening you still have to fight other people's boats. The sides and Corners of the canal are the most deadly spots sense the enemy's are in shooting at you first sense you're closest to them. Building in the middle is recommended. The Enemy's have unlimited view range and shoot at you where ever you are. (They will probably miss and hit your boat) The Enemy's are undamageable so no point of firing back. EDIT: Just cause you have a roof doesn't mean they can't see you. The only potential issue I see is the fact that everyone may cram to the middle and prop pushing could happen. Sorry, but i'm going to have to give this a -support due to the fact you said Pretty much making them gods.
I know, why put something there that can hurt you but you can't hurt them? Rounds would go a lot faster, money would be lost due to the bots destroying props before players, overall imo it's just not the best of ideas.
Idea is great and all, but there is a backlash from such event. First of all - AI in Gmod is not that smart, nor accurate. It cannot take a diffirence between players props or even target then. Thus, they will shoot only players, and that's not gonna help (even if they miss). Second of all - map is not designed for outside uses, like spectating on some distant balcony. There are no points to stand above everyone and everything (even on the bridge). Third of all - Large amount of Bots can bring a huge lag to the server. Servers can barely take it with places full, and spawning bots will just add weight to that basket.
Still, you can go around it and find some other path. Change something to make it look not just good, but effective and interesting. Thinker about this and find a solution. Our believe shall not go to waste.
I don't know If I can repurpose this idea, it Maybe Impossible. I was trying to delete this Thread and come up with a new idea. This idea I don't think is going to get that far, which I am fine with personally. Came up with a new idea but I'm working out issues with it.
