Tsunami In this game mode, you build, and fight like usual, but with waves crashing. The waves will make it harder to shoot your opponent, and it could possible tip your boat. Don't really know what else to say. It is just waves slapping you, making it harder to shoot players, and possibly tip you over.
While I like the idea, water in the Source engine does not work like that. Water is a flat surface with no ripples or waves. "Flowing" water is more like an animated texture or material, not an actual object like water should be. However, maybe there is a way to tweak this an make it work. I'm not sure if we can edit the water levels to where it would move up and down in different areas. Highly doubtful, but @Donkie would be able to shed more light on this than I can. I'm also wondering if there is a way to make currents in the water that would push boats around.
We can replace it with Ice bergs, and make the water filled with ice, or big rocks, with little rocks in the water?
*cough cough* I'm pretty sure I implemented something like this on my own but Jeffy made me stop, because I would always win. It was two props that floated sharked (Fleabomb and I were pros at this) and it would terrorize the poor little flooders. I would do a vote to see if it would pass or not.
Just like have it as a rain effect and use the windblower tool or something around the map. Easy. (I think)
As Decap said, BF4 style waves are pretty much impossible in source in a practical way. However currents and cool weather can relatively easily be made, even better effect with a custom map.
This gives me some ideas for upcoming Winter and Spring themes. However that means that this idea for "waves" would not work so I'll go ahead and mark this one down.
