IDEAS: Implement sound effects that play whenever props are destroyed (reach 0 HP). Configure SFXs to be toggleable + interchangeable (?). DETAILS: (1) Wood-, plastic-, and metal-category props would be assigned their own SFX(s) that play when obliterated. (2) Each prop in the Miscellaneous-category would receive their own fitting SFX(s). (3) Types of SFX preferences that could be made available: [OFF] ......... Default setting [ON] ........... General [ON] ........... "Pop" [ON] ........... "Drip"
Whats the point? Props will appear more special than they really are. I can imagine something like this would be nice if something special happened when it was destroyed, but other than that I don't see the appeal.
Assumed it would add a nice touch to disappearing props. Not sure how it'd make them special, either. What context are you referring to? Besides, it would be able to be toggled off for anyone that could care less. *Shrug*
I'm asking for proper reason why I should spend time implementing this. If disappearing props is the reason, maybe having props get darker and darker as they take more damage?
Perhaps it could be looked into. Not sure for now, though--the idea should be kept incubated. Would it be possible to have props fade out of view (while retaining no collisions) after reaching 0 HP? There's a chance it might look weird, though.
Yah, that's what I thought too. Actually, I'm not entirely sure about the idea of making props darken as they become increasingly damaged. Players can already glance at their health as a reference. I can make a separate thread and have others provide feedback about it.
I could make it so all wood props throw out debris when destroyed. That's the only thing that would look good.
Oh cool! Would it be possible to do the same for metals and plastics, except they'd be made to emit sparks (?) and hopefully something compatible, respectively?
