Grenade Launcher Would shoot grenades similar to the SMG and would be a cheaper alternative to the Bazooka. Similar to the TF2 grenade launcher for demoman if you get what I'm saying.
First of all: Look into other weapon threads and try to tinker a bit about the "Grenade Launcher" stats, so we could know how good\bad it would be. Second of all: If it could be a replacement of our regular grenades - it would be neat. Also, isn't that a bit... overkill with explosives?
You can never overkill the explosives :hehe: Anyway, I was thinking perhaps 20 damage on the explosive radius, with 6-8 ammo with a 2-4 clip before reload.
If it was replacing something like Nyaaa said it might be interesting but if not than there are already too many explosives, grenades, sticky tnt, Molotovs, rpg, smg grenades, you get the picture. But if it was replacing something then this would be a pretty cool idea, except one thing, we would probably need to make the reload happen at 1 shot and make it happen relatively slowly, not quite as slow as the rpg but not fast either. The problem with explosives is that, you can put hard work into say 3 medium sized decent boats, and be teamed up on at the beginning of the round by two guys, loading off all of their explosives at the beginning of the match for some quick easy cash damage, taking out all of your boats before you get a chance to retaliate. It's definitely a big problem for a lot of people, so to not make it worse what I previously said should probably be taken into consideration. If that happens then I'm all for a grenade launcher, sounds good. Fyi guys I'm all ears for feedback and constructive criticism about what I've brought up, don't hold back ;3
I honestly feel like we need "less" explosives. You can mitigate bullet damage in multiple ways. Explosive damage, not so much.
If anything I could see us implementing a made crate where you can increase grenades for the song that round. In my opinion the msg is basically already an op grenade launcher seeing as if you now how to slingshot the name it can go across the entire map.
A replacement for an existing weapon sounds fair. I would like a launcher myself but as previously mentioned Spoiler You guys discuss it though. I'm interested in seeing what you come up with ^^
Perhaps it could replace two explosive things that people think should be eliminated from the roster of the explosives? I think it would be beneficial because it would make it so there are less explosives but also implement this new explosive. In my opinion we should have a vote or a poll at the top for which explosives people would want to get rid of, and the two with the highest amount of votes at the end would be eliminated or something similar. It looks like this grenade launcher is definitely going to need some stat tweaking but the right off the bat we need to have some numbers to start out with, and then let it be tested, having this thread be open to discuss whether or not people think the weapon is too op, and what exactly about it needs to be changed. I would partake in this aswell. ;3
@Seth There was talk about class loadouts. Not sure if this is something that will be implemented or not. If it is, then I fully support more weapons, since you wouldn't be able to just continually spam rockets and nades and win every round. Edit: I actually want more explosive weapons to be added, it would just be way too OP if we added any more than we already have. However... if we made it so that players can only have a limited number of explosive weapons during fight phase, it would be less of a problem.
If you want to. Theres just no guarantee that anything comes of it. So long as you know that, I don't think anyone would mind
