Before posting: I need to explain something. This Question (What is the hardest game on the hardest settings you've ever played?) goes towards the "casual" (single player) games in general. Im talking about games like "Doom", "Mario", "Dark Souls", "Need For Speed", "Abe's Exodus" and so on. Games, that are MADE to be hard or impossible, and are not concidered to be "Indie" ones (Like "I wanna be the guy!" or "Cat Mario") shouldn't go to this list. Well, I've played lots and lots of games in my life, and I see more of them every day. Even so, I mostly like to play old games. Snd not just play them, but blast them (and myself) to bits, by trying out the hardest difficulties possible, and if that's not enough - im making challenges, just to make the game tougher. Dead Space 2 with one life, "Are you Serious?!" in Serious Sam, "God" AI in Unreal Tournament - I've done it all, and Im still looking for interesting (and challenging) games to play. So, what's the game you've played with most hardest settings possible... and was it hard?
killing floor hell on earth is hard if you're playing by yourself, pretty much all zombies are at least a 2 hit even with a lot of armor, bigger and stronger zombies are a 1 hit, so you have to try not get touched at all which is pretty hard since waves come in 50s when by yourself with a team they can go up to 100-400
AI there isn't that smart on some of the maps (even official ones), and I witnes such miracle as: "Berserker MAX lvl goes trough everything and blows up the Matriarch with hundreds of bombs". IMHO: Serious Sam is harder. And longer. (that's what she told)
Berserker MAX Level is only good if you know how to play it. Demolitions is the one who uses the bombs, and even the pipe bombs don't do a lot of damage unless you've spent around 5000-6000 dollars on them, which would be quite a big pile, in that case it would kill the patriarch no problem. but other than that, Berserker cannot kill Patriarch on Hell on Earth, it's not good to play on high waves as it is for shredding lower levels and lower zombies, when it gets to the higher levels you need to play a team class since berserker is kind of solo, same as firebug, usually everyone plays SharpShooter,Demolitions,Medic,Support Specialist, Commando is buffed when it comes to HoE, so no one really plays it on HoE
Dark Sauce is made to be hard, but its not that "Chalenging", when you farm your ass off and learn patterns. For example: Dark Sauce 2 was shorter and a bit easier than other ones (new and old). Some people even Chalenge themselves to complete the game Without dying, or even without using Bonfire. Also, Rapier is OP there.
The achievement A Flower That Bent Towards the Sun requires you to 'perfect' The Cat Lady in one playthrough. I got it legit, but it took awhile. It wasn't really intended to be hardcore though.
No More Room In Hell hardest difficulty + hardest map can be pretty difficult but very possible almost done it before.
Tbh, NMRIH is kinda easy, because zombies are not that hard to kill, and you can outrun some of them. Mostly it depends on weapons you have and "luck". I've played it alone, on many difficulties and proven myself worthy of completing all of the maps without having a scratch. Same with other players.
BY FAR crypt of the necrodancer coda the game is a rhythm based dungeon crawler, and its already known as absurdly hard but on coda: -restricted to dagger only -cant get harmed once -cannot miss a beat once, which wouldn't be that bad BUT.. -music/beat moves at twice the speed -cannot pick up coins literally 0 people beat all zones mode with coda for about a year, in that year it was deemed impossible by pretty much everyone, it was a complete joke in the community and no one attempted it theres pretty much only one guy who beat it recorded (spootybiscuit) who has 3 thousand hours in the game and singlehandedly created the meta for the character
