So, you've played on our servers and you'd like to help us?

We'll start off by saying thank you. Even if you aren't accepted it's nice that you've shown an interest in helping us out. When in game (And on the forums) we often get asked about what we look for in aspiring staff members, so this information is just to give you a better idea on what you can do to stand out and help us all out.

There is no age restriction on becoming staff on our servers
We'd like to disclose that right away, seeing as I and other staff get asked it quite a bit, regardless of your age your staff application will still be looked over just like anybody else's and we've had people as young as 12 staffing our servers before, so there's no need to worry (and please be honest!).

We don't care how good you are at the game
We often see people saying that "They've got all the weapons in game" or "They have [x] amount of money", to be honest we really don't care how good you are at the game, I mean look at our Founders, they're all god-awful at the game and they haven't even been demoted yet!

You don't have to dedicate a set amount of time each day
Whilst we do expect our staff to actually join our servers and do something once in a while, there is no set amount of time that you'll be expected to dedicate daily. We entirely understand that everybody's routine is different and that you may not be able to dedicate tons of time, but remember that every time you do moderate you're helping us out! We'd also prefer that you give a realistic estimate as to how much time you'll be able to play for on average rather than lying about how much, trust me we understand that nobody can actually dedicate 25 hours a day.

What traits do we look for in staff members?
Well, generally we look for the same kind of traits that every other server will look for, if you're kind, thoughtful, sensible, approachable, understanding and you have a sense of humor about things, I see nothing standing in your way! But don't worry if you're not one or two of those things. I'm certainly not, we don't expect everybody to be perfect!

Is there anything else I can do?
The most successful applicants usually do a few things.

    • Use the Forums: we want to see people getting involved in the community rather than just the game.
    • Use Discord: most of the staff (and many active players) use our discord server, it's a great way to get to know people and keep up to date with what's going on.
    • Put yourself out there: make sure that the staff here know who you actually are! In the least stalker-esqe way, try to talk to all of us—with a range of personalities I'm sure you'll find somebody that you'll be able to 'click' with!
Keep note on these following factors on how we process and review applicants for eligibility:
    • Is the applicant active for the position that they're applying for?
    • Is the applicant taking part in community discussions and/or server development?
    • Has the applicant receive any infractions recently (for the past 3 months)?
    • Has the applicant applied before?

    Where do I begin?

Just keep in mind that we are looking for serious applicants that can wait approximately 10 days* before we make a decision. All staff start out as Junior Moderators with limited power and can be promoted based on how they act and what they bring to the community. It's seen as a test run that many people fail which causes their demotion.

Click here to begin the process; once you're finished, please be patient as we evaluate your application for the position you've applied for.
Additionally, please visit this thread (what we usually direct recently accepted staff) so you are familiar with what to expect within our structure as a community.

Scenarios are hypothetical questions we ask to discover how knowledgeable you are if you were placed in a moderative position and will not affect your eligibility in any way, shape or form. Answer to the best of your ability. Alternatively, you may use this guide to help you derive and carry reasonable decisions.
*Application process has been lowered from 2 weeks (review starts after 6 days) as of June 14th, 2018.

Commonly Asked Questions for Staff Applications

When will my staff application get accepted or denied?

This is by FAR the most commonly question asked at least to some variation.

We have decided that we will "try" to either accept or deny an application within a 10 day* period. During this time, Staff & Administration will periodically discuss which people we think will be best suited for a promotion. We factor in a lot of things. Most of which are covered here.
    Have you read my application?
Staff Applications are all queued for Moderation. This means we are required to read them before they are even viewable on the forum. So the answer is yes, most likely.

Can I ask how my application is doing?
You can message one of our Staff, sure! Just know that pestering us about your application/promotion isn't going to make it move any faster and likely will cause us to reconsider your eligibility. If you're not patient with us then we won't be patient with you. Simple.

Who decides if I get accepted/denied?
Our Staff & Administration team decide as a majority; however, Bayrock may make the final decision himself if deemed necessary.

Do you think I have a good chance of getting promoted?
This is one of the harder questions to answer because there are a bunch of variables involved. We try to be as fair as possible and give everyone an equal opportunity. Though it "really" depends how much effort and time you put into helping the community. We aren't looking for control freaks, lazy people, immature people ect. We are looking people with the genuine intention to help the community.

Please note that we do NOT forget about your applications nor do we ignore them! If you did not get a response, it's simply because we felt that it was not necessary or we did not get around to it yet.
